This is the same conclusion you'll come to with anybody who opposes GM crops or thinks 9/11 was a conspiracy perpetrated by the US Government. You can't get through to these people.
It is intellectually dishonest to paint anti-GM consumers as conspiracy theorists by categorizing them together. There are many reasons individuals may wish to avoid modified organisms. Some of the reasons may be irrational, but that does not mean all of the reasons are, or even most.
It strikes me as odd that 'resisting arrest' can be the charge to arrest a person. How can one be 'resisting arrest' unless one is already under arrest or in the exact process of being arrested on a different (and more valid) charge?
Said brick/mortar owner can also sell online, and get this advantage you speak of. People shop differently than they used to, so let's not make online retailers sound like the bad guy here. They have responded accurately to a changed consumer model.
Definitely. I feel reasonably safe in assuming they'll publish a Flights API along with that. Some nice apps could be built on that in conjunction with voice-search.
But what you wind up with is something that looks like an interactive chat session - you can put together ideas that way but there's no structure to the end result
Isn't that where extensions would come in? I'd prefer that Wave itself not define what an end product would be and impose that on me.
I'll never understand arm-chair petroleum engineers. How easy do you think it is to drive a multi-ton robotic submersible a mile underwater using cameras that don't provide good depth perception to plug a hole spewing oil with a pressure exceeding 5,000 PSI?
I'll never understand why BP thought it was okay to do this with no feasible back-up plan. It's not about how easy or difficult this all is. It is about why they are doing this in the first place if it is so unimaginable to recover from the unexpected.
How exactly is their buying keywords shady? They are leading the cleanup/damage control efforts, as it is their responsibility. They're doing everything they can to get information out, to the point of paying for keywords to point you to their updates.
Say what you will about BP's operations, but their corporate communications seem to be top-notch. Those folks are doing all the right things.
He is just now making this information public? How long has he known about this? Why were the people not informed earlier? TFA states a similar (but smaller) hole opened back in 2007, not too far from this monster.
It doesn't have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking
I see my idea for "eliminating duplicate stories from /. by utilizing the built-in search functionality before publishing" didn't make the grade.
HIP? Never heard of that language. Another Java clone?

But am I the only one that finds a quote from Princess Leia just sounds stupid?
If we added a car analogy, we're looking at at least a 4-funny.

Insert obligatory reply here about how to turn off 'politics' in his/her account settings.

I could have sworn that my hometown of Milwaukee had a copyright on "more bars in more places". Some blocks had a tavern on each corner. :p
just accept that Android devices will always trail iOS devices
Trail? In what way? If you asked me I would say in popularity and intuitive UI, but I am curious in what way you meant it.
at a time when the US is at an all time international relations low.
Funny. I thought that was when Bush II. was in office.

I can already send any data through email, so what exactly makes Wave worth my time?
Real-time collaboration.
what do the powered license plates display when they break?

Well, yeah. That's probably why TFS said:

How much did you get paid to write that?
but you're having a much larger impact on the guy who owns that station
Sometimes when you do business with the devil, you get burned.
No, you see, the turtleneck can be pulled up and around the phone, for an intimate, and muffled experience.

are we going to all give up our cell phones if it turns out that they cause problems with bees?
If we can't give up cell phones in the car due to them causing problems with road safety involving humans, then I imagine bees don't stand a chance.
I will do it.

*looks over shoulder nervously*
It seems unlikely
Its the type of action that causes all sorts of people to yell and complain about imperialism by the US.
Well, they hate us for our imperialistic tendencies^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H freedoms.
