    Lab rats are stupid.
If I found a lever in a lab that dumped out cocaine, I would just pound it out into a bag, take it home, and use it to play diablo 2 for 20 days straight. Sheesh. THEN who's fault is it?

"Games are to those gamers, what heroin is to a junky. And they ODed."
So the proposed solution (as in drugs) is to outlaw what is so great that people can't control themselves with. Clearly, that doesn't stop the problem since junkies exist to be in comparison, but now we've got criminal gamers to boot.

This is the mentality of prohibition. The idiot is at fault - long live darwin - clean out the idiots. Stupid is till stupid dies.

Firefox is what I would recommend to anyone needing a web browser, but it's still got tons of problems. It's a hog, a complete hog. Of course there are plenty of factors to blame - but it doesn't remove the problem.

Yes, internet explorer sucks. It sucks that the browser market has so few reasonable players. It sucks that so many popular websites refuse to evolve.

Firefox is a glass of stinky water in a huge desert.

Most consoles that have come out since the NES have reportedly been sold at a loss.

If microsoft really is selling these at a big loss, it just further reinforces my paranoid idea that Microsoft is trying to kill the gaming industry. If a company today were to offer a super-powerful console at near give-away price - once they received real market penetration they... oh crap where's my tinfoil h!?!?!...

Really, so if some hardware in the nex Xbox breaks or is recalled it will derail microsoft - would most other companies not be affected? What the?

I was recently in an IRC channel with basehead (who is an old tracking god, and now works for a video game company and is currently working on one of the 360 launch titles) who said:
The XBox360 does not have any standard stereo output. It either uses the Dolby digital, or it downsamples 5 channels together as 'mono'.

So anyone without a Dolby sound system is going to hear complete crap. Maybe this will change, but it will be launched this way. This sounds to me about as bad as a soundcard recall.

College costs (a lot of) money - and anyone who's too stupid to take advantage of their time there doesn't deserve it.

By the time you're in college, you should know how to handle your time, you should know how to study, and you certainly know how to pay attention. If you don't pay attention and you fail - you're a failure despite the reason. If you can slag off, play zelda and browse 'facebook' (please kill youselves) -- and still pass the class -- then the only problem is that you've exposed how useless the college experience is.

Also, making a kernel image and then updating you boot loader will do nothing. Your kernel image will appear in the linux/arch/(you arch)/boot which you should then copy to a location readable by you bootloader, configure your lilo or grub to see the new image, then run your bootloader.
