It seems there are a lot of apps cropping up that basically help unorganized people stay unorganized. Crutches, if you will. This can even be (partially) attributed to apps from MS Sharepoint to ID3 tagging MP3 files. Yes, I realize those technologies can be useful, but the reason they exist is for organization.
Case and point: If Trump had said this, the Interwebs would be all over him as batshit crazy (which he probably is, but for different reasons). Why does Musk get a pass? I can't believe some of the favoritism I'm reading here.
I have about 4 or 5 PC's at home running Windows 7 (plus some virtuals and a work laptop) and none of them will ever see Windows 10. So far there is no reason to upgrade and plenty of reasons to stay away. At this point, I don't even want to learn anything more about it. I'll skip over it and scrutinize Windows 11 a bit closer when it comes out. But for now I'm treating Windows 8, 8.1, & 10 like I treated Vista. It's of no concern.
OK, I admit I rarely use Uber and can't remember the last time I used a taxi, but at 9.9x the price, surely the cost of just calling for a taxi becomes much cheaper?
Maybe they WOULD if they were TAUGHT that it was good. What do you expect them to say when they've been brainwashed by the very universities conducting the survey?
And the same people who have been slowly trying to eliminate tobacco from the public space are the same ones trying to promote pot instead. Find some logic in that one.
If the removal of the audio jack rumor is true, I may be picking up a shiny new iPhone 6s soon to hold me for a few years. 'Not just because removing that feature is stupid, and I use it a lot, but because the reason to remove it is they want to make it even thinner. At that point, this thing will be way too delicate unless backed by adamantium.
If we keep money in America, everybody will do better here. Who cares if they are poor elsewhere (sorry, but true). It worked in decades past. It's only with the new globalization that we have to compete with other countries or their (human) resources.
Or, they could do away with stack ranking type of systems and go back to the old fashioned way of evaluating employees - by having the managers pay attention.
I agree! I didn't bother reading the article because I assume it was written by a moron.
I live near woods and have to blow leaves into the woods several times during the season, or my yard would be covered by oak leaves 5 times over. My hand leaf blower gets used 20% of the time. The other 80% is with a Little Wonder push blower. It's loud as fuck, but the only thing that'll get the job done. There is no way with modern technology to make that thing quiet that I'm aware of.
Why would anyone prefer warm yellow light? That was a byproduct of incandescent light, not a design choice. I for one hate the way it made everything look dirty and yellow. Give me white light (3500-4000K) any time.
I've posted this before on other threads, but basically a gun is a perfectly machined mechanical device that has worked flawlessly (in varying configurations) for a hundred years. All that is required is physics. To introduce an electronic component to it would be like adding a smart switch to a toilet. Who would want a toilet that didn't work if you forgot your decoder ring, or ID band, wearing gloves, forgot to change the battery, or the electricity went out? (Can you picture adding a UPS to a commode?)
The same argument can be made for anything from sneakers to kitchen knives to bicycles.
No, that is bullshit. Unions exist for the purpose of their constituents, not the schools. Schools without unions (private schools, whose teachers also get paid less) have students who do better than average.
Agreed. I am writing this now at work, just like any random post on Facebook. I would never be able to do a video in my cubicle, nor would I want to.
Yes, but if African country-ABC was in charge of DNS, you would NOT be able to access all those web sites you do now. Some would be silenced.
Riding on the coattails of the USA's openness does not mean other countries would be the same.

I see a spin-off of the Uber service coming real soon...

When there are only a couple providers (like with cell phone companies), it's easy for them to all keep their prices high.
You know this is coming... Why replace boring human ears when you can make some cool Elf or Vulcan ears?
No surprise. No matter what side of the aisle you represent, you have to admit Hillary is one lucky son(daughter?)-of-a-bitch.
If the Internet is woven together by the Small Business Line of Cisco, we're in trouble.

I'm with Mike Rowe. Not everyone needs to have a white collar or IT job. What are we going to do if nobody wants a blue collar job?

I liked guns way before Obama.
So I can't say that certain Islamists are asshats for beheading westerners? Or call Scientologists batshit crazy? What if it's true?
It sounds like Twitter is run by some really leftist people. The inevitable problem with that is they will eventually be intolerant of everything.
a Miley Cyrus track instead. At least make a secondary point as you're doing that.
Private schools and teachers get paid more than public? WTF are you talking about?
