    No, service providers are always a good thing. Bitcoin's biggest feature is that the currency's printing is controlled by math, not by a central bank. The transmission is controlled by a trustless P2P network, not by a banking network. But there will always be services built around it, and it's a good thing.

    I have heard the same tune in 2011 (I can't believe we are still trading at $5, we'll never get back to $32), then again in 2013 (I can't believe we are still trading at $100, we'll never get back to $266). To the non-believers: Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.

    Except if it's still a decentralized coin, then what good does it do for the government to create its "own" coin? if it's not decentralized, then it'll be shunned by the current Bitcoin users, most will not switch.

    Sure, currently it doesn't have much use in daily life. BUT it has its uses, for example you CAN'T gamble online with your US dollar, but you could with Bitcoin.

    yes, quantum computers can possibly break today's Bitcoin. But Bitcoin protocol will get updated long before quantum computers are commercially available.

    1. no you can't, windows does not restore your PC to FACTORY status, only the vendor restore disk can do that. 2. I'm pretty sure windows update don't update vendor software or BIOS. Btw, updating BIOS is very safe today, there's no chance you can mess up your BIOS at all. You are thinking of 2002 BIOS update maybe, not 2012. BIOS update is very useful, probably the single most significant way to boost compatibility and performance. 3. Webcam/camera don't always come with software, especially the used ones, and the vendor software isn't usually better than the Cyberlink software. You are getting a paid software for free, why complain. 4. Spotify, I agree, there's no point to pre-install

    Actually I really prefer they load the PC with as much crapware as they can, so my total buy price gets subsidized. It's a piece of cake to remove them. I'd rather receive a crap loaded PC for $100 less, than paying more for a clean PC.

    His argument still valid. What if on a $500 item, amazon has the same price as your local store, or maybe even amazon price is higher than your local store by $10, free shipping. But at your local store, you get hit with 7% sales tax, you are still going to buy from amazon, right? But now what if amazon had to charge the same 7% sales tax? Now you will buy locally, no brainer. The fact is if amazon had to charge sales tax, their revenue probably will drop by at least 20%, which would probably push their earning into the negative, considering they are on a razor-thin margin currently.

    Limewire is owned by the Lime Group, which also owns hedge funds and other companies that worth billions of dollars. This is one of the reason RIAA went after Limewire, because the potential payout is huge. The $100m will be paid by Lime Group.

    The problem isn't the B&M offices. The problem is they offer incredible low rates to mass mailers, and then try to use the retail customers to subsidize the mass mailers. But now retail business is plummeting due to internet/email. They continue to offer low rates to mass mailers, but can't find new source of income to subsidize them, thus the $7 Billion a year deficit.
