I've gone ahead and just started keeping all my textbooks. The professors at my school have quite the scam going, I'm assuming they're getting a kickback from the publishers.
Basically a professor will pick a pre-existing book, reorder the chapters, send the modified chapter list to the publisher who prints a "Binghamton University" Custom Edition. The catch? You can't sell them back, not even to the official campus bookstore because they don't have a national resale value as "Binghamton Custom Editions."
I know I'm planning a project with an old Palm LCD, and it's just easier to write a small palm app that will take serial input than it would be to directly interface with just the lcd. They're a steal on ebay.
I've been in cars with people texting, calling people on their phones, and fiddling with the radio; all of those bother me a little. I don't feel very unsafe however. What really gets me, is when I'm driving on a highway, and I have to sneeze. Repeated sneezing is easily more dangerous. Write to your local congress representative and have them outlaw sneezing while driving.
I'm pretty sure the USGA (and likely other golf governing bodies) banned any drivers that are able to deform in, then shoot the ball out. Allowing this would make a lot of golf courses obsolete.
I went and saw the movie and was only looking to see that Cloverfield was some sort of government code name, so I was satisfied. Also, no tentacles which was great.
I bought an ipod touch for my dad for christmas. In reality I could get this update for free because it can still be returned to the store. I think it would be in their interest to offer the update free to people who have had theirs for less than the return period, to keep returns down. Am I gonna return the thing for the update? No, because I know my dad wouldn't be interested in the extra functionality.
I really doubt this is the case. I worked for BestBuy for two years, and despite all the pressure from managers, most floor salesmen that I knew, myself included, weren't out to screw the customer. We get no incentives to sell you more, except we don't have to hear our managers bitch at us (as much.) In the two years that I was there, there was one contest for selling, and the prize was a $20 flash drive.
So in your case, I don't think they were withholding stock from you. None of us kept track of stock in our heads, and the inventory system at bestbuy isn't very accurate, nor is it quick.
Geek Squad is a seperate company than Best Buy, in fact in some either officemax's or similar chain down south you may begin to see geek squad precincts popping up.
You should be able to see this at most of the Best Buy stores. I know this as I work for Best Buy, and I understand a lot of your grief with the company, Lord knows I have my own. But if you look at a lot of mid to high range laptops, and mid to high range desktops(mainly Gateway) you'll see the savings are passed along instantly at the register. There is a reason for this. When we sell that $300 emachines with monitor and printer, the people buying it aren't going to be buying anything that is going to make us any money(services, accessories, service plans etc). So from my perspective, they use mail in rebates on those so that we don't lose the tiny margin we get on those products, as we aren't going to recoup it with other item sales.
100,000MB is 100GB (not accounting for the difference between the 2^n and 10^n.)
Put land mines around it. Whoever is trying to get into it will get the picture after a few tries of getting in.

You just attach a GPS unit to the projectile. Duh

This is the basis of Limbo of the Lost. I'll be here all week.
Just curious as to what evidence your talking about.
It never claimed to have a degree in physics. It IS a degree in physics.
I thought your last sentence was your signature, and it was some sort of hex joke. sigh.. I need a break from computers.
is there some sort of browser plugin that will parse that formatting to make it easier to read?
Where is Donald Anderson?

Why is it sad that a Fox News viewers vote is effective?

When that extra core will cost you $10 more, why bother with the single core?
