    Spring. Open source, 3d clone ov TA.
    The Quake 3 Engine is open source. As soon as Quake Zero is released, the Quake 4 engine will be open source.
    The gimp is almost as good as photoshop (and in some cases better; look at cinepaint.)
    Racer has better graphics then most console games, and realistic driving physics.
    QCad OSE is an open source version ov commercial cad software.
    Descent Freespace, (the best action space sim ever) is open source.
    Ever notice that there is no OSS clone of windows that is as good? Oh, wait. There is.

    Leaving Ocho Rios, customs made me take off my shoes to make sure I wasn't 'smuggling drugs in dem, mon'. This consisted ov me taking my shoes off putting them on the floor, and the customs officer shining a flashlight inside. He did not pick them up, he did not turn them over, he just shined a flashlight inside. I was cleared, but only because I guess since he didn't see any drugs overflowing from my sneekers.

    I plug a controller identical to whatever system I am trying to emulate into my pc. It beats the pants off using a xbox controller.

    If one should reflect on history to see how such a resource would be used, one could come to the conclusion that it would not be used for security or keeping the USA safe. no.

    The reason being is windows frontloads most ov the code, resulting in a higher os footprint and longer boot times. Instead ov opening dynamic libraries when the application that needs it is run, it opens all the core libs when the system is started.

    Dynamic portals (user created portals with viewable endpoints) are innovative. They were also first seen in the 1997 demo ov Prey. Portal is very original in it's copying a 10 year old innovation, sure.

    Mass Effect just added cutscenes to Ultima 7's aggressive/neutral/defensive dialog system.

    COD4, well. The author describes what a developer needs to do to make a game better then COD4. Quake Wars has all those features, and it was out before COD4.

    I beg to differ - the bots in Quake Wars are quite excellent. If you like q3a I would recommend checking out qw. At its lowest, most base level, qw is like q3a with xp, vehicles, and orbital bombardments.

    Splash damage was the first developer to do this, about 5 years ago with the first enemy territory. co-op team multiplayer fps with rpg elements. a lot of cash? not quite. they gave it away for free.
