    Saying that it happened about 2684 years ago implies (at least to me) that they can date it between precisely 2683 and 2685 years. Does it not strike anyone else as odd that they could pinpoint something that long ago so precisely?

    Gmail will let you set up virtual email addresses. So you can register as MrBig+Facebook@gmail.com instead of MrBig@gmail.com. All the email still goes to MrBig@gmail.com, but tricks like the one in TFA do not work.

    Oh, it's worse than that. The iPhone relies on ubiquitous data for many, if not nearly all of its marque applications. Maps, music, app updates, games, video, etc.

    It was one of the most striking things about moving from a dumb phone to an iPhone "back in the day". Everything you needed, as much as you needed, as fast as that little pipe to the cloud could carry it. People used it. People liked it. People got used to it. People expected it. Then, as you say, AT&T and Verison realized that their profit margin on data was not nearly as high on iPhones than what passed for smart phones before and the days of unlimited data came to a close.

    If AT&T ever cuts my grandfathered unlimited data plan, I will drop them like a hot rock.

    I change ISPs fairly often and wanted a stable email address. Of the available free email providers, gmail offered the best service/features.

    Yes, in fact. Though now they are in the habit of turning it back off to preserve battery life. I figure we will see a similar feature in Windows 10 or 11. Everyone will think that it is revolutionary and cutting edge. They will marvel at how infrequently it crashes.
