My neighbors just purchased a $2600 Sony Bravia. I recommended a Samsung for half the price, but they trust the Sony name. Both are in their 60's and grew up with Sony stereos, tvs, etc. There is still a large portion of the population that has no clue how bad Sony has gotten.
Even with a $100 price drop on the PS3, it's still too expensive. I'm tempted to pick one up since I have always been a PC gamer. I bought a gamecube for the party games when it hit $100. I could justify spending around $250, maybe $300 for a console. $500-600 is rediculous.
So there is no ultimate truth? What about murder, child rape, incest, etc? I think most rational people could agree that there are some things that are not open to interpretation.
Everyone that I know that would be interested in HL2 already owns it. I would prefer that they charge a reasonable amount instead of screwing their existing customers. It's simply bad customer service.
The fact that they're charging $30 for an EPISODE shows that they have no clue as to what they should charge or how often new content should be released.
Except their NOT $20 each. Ep1 was $20 and Ep2 will be $30. We're already at $50, so unless Ep3 is $10, we're not getting what was promised. As for the 'Orange box'; I already own Half-Life 2 and Ep1. They should be rewarding loyal fans rather than punishing them.
Or an easier way is to download it from piratebay or mininova. I understand the desire to do things in a legitimate manner, but sometimes the rules are simply too restrictive.
Why do they need to campaign? Have every major network (ABC, CBS, FOX) carry a series of debates leading up to the elections. Newspapers and other news sources will pull their sound bites from the debates and people can make an informed decision. Campaign funding adds NOTHING to the process other than a back to scratch in future.
So they jack their rates and, as expected, I drop them. I have no moral qualms about downloading something if I see it as over priced. I imagine a huge portion of the 15-30 demographic probably holds the same opinion and could figure out how to get the programming for free if they were pushed hard enough. Why would they want to drive away their future customer base for a perceived short term gain?
I started watching 'Dexter' via netflix recently. I'm now hooked and will probably have to find it via torrents since I refuse to spend $15 a month for a single show. I would LOVE to be able to legally download it for $1.00 an episode.
40c is prohibitively expensive? That's a total $6 a season! I'll take the five or so shows that I watch and pay my $30 now. That's less than I spend in a MONTH to get a basic satellite package. I'd be happy to pay $1.00 per show as long as I get a 'teaser' setting. Allow the first five minutes for free on any non subscribed show.
Cheap service over a data network that prioritizes VOIP traffic. Add in a specialized Google search and you could have real time GPS. I certainly wouldn't drop several hundred dollars on an iphone. I already have an ipod and a cell phone. Why do I need one? Having said that; I'm definitely interested in what Google can offer.
I really hope not. All I want is a cheap phone (and service) that get excellent coverage and has a battery that will last for more than 12 hours. I would love to able to tell my current carrier to get lost and stop financing illegal wiretapping.
This is why we need strict term limits and the elimination of ALL campaign contributions. If they can't accept dirty money, they're not indebted to corporate and private interests. I personally believe that it would solve 90% of the existing problems.
I doubt he realizes WHY people hate him. I would imagine that he sees himself more as a martyr dying for his holy crusade. (assuming he's not on Take2's payroll)
It's a matter of showing respect to the person that was. There a many people who do not hold religious meaning in death, but still choose to show an appropriate measure of respect when someone passes on.
The 'bore' is James' spell that creates a whirlpool. I do agree that James is probably the easiest to beat the game with. I initially had chosen Stratos, but it was pretty clear that he couldn't be trusted. James was really the only good god.
I've played through this game using most of the gods just to see their spells. Personally, I LOVE Jame's later spells like bovine intervention.

"I find it comparable to Heretic / Hexen, with modern graphics."
This statement alone should negate anything before it. Heretic / Hexen had no story and the atmosphere was mediocre at best. BioShock has an intriguing story that leaves me anxious for each tape. I've found myself trying to figure out how each faction fits in this manufactured society. People are left to their own ends with the one rule; capitalism above all else. Just about anything is allowed as long as you do not interfere with commerce. As for the atmosphere, it still sends shivers down my spine despite having played for several hours.

I found the best way to handle the big daddies is to pile up a bunch of explosive barrels and lure them towards you. Either use a target dummy or shock them when they're close. Shoot the barrels and you can drop them with a few shots of armor piercing rounds.

Count me a disappointed former valve fan.

Agreed. I often find myself peaking around corners (in game) because hear a splicer muttering. The maniacal laughter still give me the creeps.
I think this may be related to the system that you're trying to run it on. I've had NO issues running at 1024x768 with all options on high.
