I've been to Napa and I agree with you about Australian wine. Napa can produce a very nice Cab, but their Syrah can not hold a candle to the Australian Shiraz. I think most French wine is over priced and I actually prefer American oak to French barrel. I'm really not sure why.
Normal American beer is in the 4-5% range, but light beers are in the 2.5-3% range. Many people drink the standard MGD or Bud, but I'd wager that the majority drink light.
I do agree about the Anchors. Terrible, terrible stuff. The Sierra Nevada is certainly drinkable if the other offering are Miller or Bush. I recently found a micro-brew in NW Indiana called "The three Floyds". Absolutely fantastic ales including a particularly tasty Scottish ale called "Robert the Bruce".
I recently started dabbling in homebrew and have managed to produce a few decent batches of ale and one very tasty lager.
And magical pigs will fly out of my ass. Corruption and power go hand in hand. The only way to cut back on political corruption is to eliminate campaign financing (bribery).
And you sold your Wii? I spent the weekend drunk off my ass playing Wii sports with a bunch of buddies. Between sports, Rayman, WiiPlay and Excite truck, I don't think the controllers were ever set down. Perhaps you're referring to online multiplayer (FPS mostly)? If that is the case, the PC will pretty much always be superior. I'm not bashing the 360 because it really is very pretty. It's just that I'd rather invite people over and laugh while we make asses out of ourselves.
If you have more than one available card, you may want to call the CC company and tell them that you'd like a new card issued. They will cancel the existing card and you'll have the new card in a couple of days. My card appears to be clean, but I had a new card issued as a precaution.
It's the same for corporations and government. Individuals come up with 'brilliant' ideas that cause harm to the general public, but there is no true responsibility. Assign a portion of the damages to people responsible for approval process. Leaders should be held to a higher standard than Joe public.
I think the power of the Wii (stop snickering) really lies with the casual gamer. I bought one at launch and had a bunch of couples over for new years eve. Two couples went out and have purchased Wiis since then. Last I had heard, the one couple had already purchased Cars, Need for Speed, Rayman and they were thinking about getting Trauma center. All this coming from people who have never played anything besides solitar and a little bit of sim city.
I'll avoid the entire thing. I'm tired of the 'format wars'. They're not exciting and they certainly do not help the consumer. We'll all be better off when we finally have the capability to stream highdef media.
True for the most part, but I'm still leery of how well a RTS would work. I was a bit incensed since the GGP seems to have no clue about what makes the classical CRPG so great. It really is a breed apart from anything else that you will find.
You're obviously not a PC gamer. The fact of the matter is that consoles are less complex and far less open than PCs are. You tend to get simplified control schemes and short levels. These are a direct result of the hardware limitations that have plagued consoles from the very start. I'm not saying consoles are without merit. I enjoy various genres (adventure, JRPG, action (PoP). On the other hand, a console simply can not produce a decent RTS, FPS or CRPG. The point is, as a console gamer, you are unable to understand the pain of a crappy ported sequel when the original was a masterpiece.
I submitted the story on 3-19 that Best was dropping the 20G model and that it was rumored that most major retailers would follow suit. Looks like Sony got the message.
*drools* I would love a Star Wars game that holds true to the idea of light sabers. Make all doors, walls, etc destructible. I'm sure this would be difficult in terms of game planning since they wouldn't be able to force you to follow a linear path, but it would be really neat. A fully destructible environment would add some interesting puzzles, not to mention fun ways to kill imperial dogs.:)
The second gen xbox controller wasn't bad, but the PS2 controller just sucks. It never fails that my fingers start to go numb if I play for an extended period of time. Never had that problem with the Cube controller though. I also like the button layout better than the diamond shape.
Nothing like getting your kid tanked and expecting them to do well. I'm not saying I wouldn't let my kids have some, but nothing as excessive as what you're promoting. Introducing them to a bit of wine with a nice meal: good. Handing your kid a six pack: irresponsible. Most people in the US aren't freaks about alcohol, they just don't want their kids to endanger themselves or others.
Forgive my ignorance since I haven't done the research on this topic, but how to heat the house during the winter? Also, in Chicago, we can go for WEEKS without seeing the sun. I love the idea, but I just don't see this as a practical solution for the majority of the population.
Not sure if it's still out there or not, but I played one at a LAN party awhile back called Western Quake. Fully functional AI bots helped fill in and the weapons were pretty good.
It's even worse than that. This will not stop the RIAA from trying to sue college students. So, they are removing funds that would to towards grants and they could potentially sue the effected student. Just another reason for me not to purchase their crap.
I'm betting $100-110 by Christmas. I picked mine up around September, but I know a few people that are holding out for that magical $99.99 price tag. Either that or they would need to include a game or two.
Thanks for the tip.
Lagers have their place. I love a really good IPA, but I'll take a lager over an IPA on a hot summer day.

Changing the channel.
Agreed. The quoted text is probably one of the most insightful statements that I've seen in the games section.

Mario Kart DS is fantastic. I spent several hours on Sunday hanging out with a bunch of friends playing via WiFi.

I never could get the opening movie to play back on my old 486/66.
