  1. Bush saved the economy on McCain Answers Science Policy Questionnaire · · Score: 0

following a two term President who completely ruined the economy

Unless you believe Bush was in the office of every bank in America signing Mortgages for more than people could afford, he didn't "break" the economy. The truth is the president has limited control of the economy. I bet most of us work for companies that have CEO's that have MUCH more effect on the economy than a President.

Bush did, however, inherit a real recession (I say "real" since we have not had one since). His tax cuts fixed Clinton's high taxes.

Fox News was founded to make money. Many studies have been done and all concluded that the media does not align with the values of the viewers. One study claimed that 88% of the members of media viewed themselves as "liberal" while this number is only in the mid teens for all Americans. While I'm not going to look for a source, I'm sure everyone agrees with this general premise.

Fox News saw an opportunity and took it, and has become by far the #1 cable news channel. It is probably the only conservative slanting news outlet on cable. Just because it has a different slant than CNN ABC NBC and CBS does NOT mean it is "corrupt" and "misinformed." It had the highest numbers for both the RNC and DNC.

Claiming they are any more guilty of misinformation and corruption than other media outlets is flat out wrong. If you want evidence, even listen to members of your own political party. The left media was blatently pro-Obama and anti-Clinton during the primaries.

I've had a number of liberals say to me that Fox News had by far the most balanced coverage of the Democratic primaries compared to the DNC TV channels (CNN ABC NBC CBS).

Conservatives are cautious about global warming because Liberals are trying to introduce legislation based on it. We are handcuffing business, raising taxes, and affecting our day-to-day lives because of "global warming."

If this is what has to be done, so be it. We have a federal government for a reason.

On the other hand there is plenty of evidence that Global Warming does not exist and it is being pushed by Liberals with an agenda. This is unacceptable. We should not be destroying our economy because of "maybes."

Obama's comments about small town folk sticking to guns and religion and his affiliation with domestic terrorists and racist preachers hasn't hurt him much in the democratic race.

Didn't hurt or help him much with the conservative base. Obama is a typical left winger who wants to raise taxes across the board and put more government control into the economy.

These affiliations and comments have hurt him permanently with independants. Hillary dominated him with average American citizens: working class Americans who love the country, lean slightly right, but have no affiliation whatsoever with either party. McCain can easily dominate this same demographic since he wants to LOWER taxes and is a war hero. If he convinces the conservatives out there (me) that he isn't as liberal as I think he is, he will pull in the conservative base and a majority of these independants.

For example many drug dealers use pre-paid phones and ditch them on a regular basis. PATRIOT ACT now gives us the ability to have a Roaming wiretap, which works on all phones purchased by a terrorist/drug dealer. Most of the over-reaching pieces have already been declared unconstitutional. Also the "back at the ranch" comment probably refers to our President.
