So Apple paid $400 million to purchase a company that won't add additional functionality to iPhones (as you could already use Shazam for free) compared to Google who wrote their own AI to do the same thing without sending any data back to Google. I'm not sure I see a reason behind that price tag.
Fundamentally, what it comes down to is that these people have a vested interest in hiding from the truth and since Snopes is a site that is interested in unbiased, actual truth they will do anything to smear that site. End of story.
Hey you insensitive clod, I use a single tab after each period. It's much better for readability. Your eye skips directly to the beginning of each sentence and sometimes your tabs even line up, creating meaning that didn't even exist before. Also, it makes the spacing a little bit variable so you get this very organic feeling to what you're writing. It's just the best and I recommend it to everybody who writes paragraphs in English++ (or even English#).
It's a Cruise-Control-like system so I would assume it goes at the speed that the driver sets it at and then seeks to keep that speed. 74mph is 1mph under 10 over, which everybody knows is the 'real' speed limit and I bet is a common setting for people using Cruise-Control.
It doesn't really matter what you call it. The system forces you through a confirmation process to inform you of the limits and allow you to assume liability for them.
It's an OSX thing*. I noticed this when I copy-pasted some code to another dev in Slack. OSX automatically replaces the ' ' and " " to be the 'matching pair' text characters.
System Preferences->Keyboard->Text->Turn off 'Use smart quotes and dashes'
Because it happened. In 2013 it wasn't the truth, now it is. It's correct to say that it seems like the natural progression of things, especially in hindsight, and yet, in 2013 the shift hadn't happened yet. To answer your question, that is why this is news.
I'll be honest, my reading is that he's writing it to deflate the groundswell of support for Ahmed. He straw-man's Ahmed's statement that he invented it, as you describe, and then goes on to talk about how the teachers actually weren't responding absurdly. It's an article intended to give points of support to those who want to argue against the commonly expressed opinion that Ahmed was targeted absurdly and unfairly. It does this partly by whittling away at Ahmed's 'credibility' as a young inventor.
It's definitely contrary to my viewpoint, but I think that's what's going on here.
Commenting to remove incorrect moderation. It would be nice if there was an 'undo' function that stayed active for a minute or something to help prevent accidental clicks.
I'm running on a Late-2011 MBP and also had some similar frame rate issues. Now, perhaps there's some underlying UNIX/LINUX issues going on but I at least wanted to you to know you're not the only one having those issues.
Heh, that's because the longer you spend on a persons profile and looking through their photo albums the more likely it is those people will show up on your newsfeed. All that time spent looking at their pictures tells Facebook those people are important to you so it presents you with their other posts, too.
So then you tell the GP 'nice falsehood there' and then go on to succinctly prove the truth of his statement? There's some trenchant conservative logic right there.

Can someone explain?
The funny thing is that you think its an outlandish claim and that his post is just 'disagreeing'.
The funny thing is that you think anybody in America would write that.
Slashdot is absolutely being manipulated. It's one of the major targets of Russian info ops.
'Liberals look at all human accomplishments with disdain and disgust'?
What the fuck are you smoking? How can you claim to have any grasp on reality and make claims like that? Must be smoking the good stuff, man.

crowdsourcingâ! I like it!
Well, it accepts the interference and then allows it to cause undesired operation, so it looks like it's perfectly compliant.
Tesla has agreements and explanations for each owner that explicitly states what function the 'Autopilot' actually has.

Only if you download it to the toaster using your Amazon Echo..
Why would it? And to extend that question: why would it for free?

Thanks! Would I be able to find an index of the tone numbers you're using somewhere?

Cut your losses and just peace! You'll be waiting for a while for a time refund...
Good point and explanation. So the question becomes, what is the equivalent law in Canada? And can RightsCorp be prosecuted under it?
