Cingular uses the 850/1900MHz bands for both GSM (2g) and UMTS/HSDPA (3g). The Standard used in the rest of the world is 900/1800MHz for GSM and 2100MHz for UMTS. If I could find a Japanese phone that supports 1900MHz GSM, it would most likely only have 2100MHz UMTS, and lack 850MHz GSM... which is important in my area, since it's semi-rural (and lacks UMTS on anyway).
In a nutshell: If I import a Japanese phone, it would work half-assed in my area, even under the older GSM networks, if at all. Blame the FCC.

CMU is social enough I guess... I've been to the campus a couple of times. The Library is fsking huge (*looks at books from library*) and very useful. Good neighborhood and easily hackable WiFi is plentiful.
Just bring a hoodie or something... it's damn cold here.
Microsoft, Scrap Win32 and the NT Kernel. Build a new OS from the ground up. Make it a variant of Unix. Get it certified by The Open Group. Write the Kernel in C so it's stable. Make the OS modular so that the entire system won't go down when something crashes. Use a standardized filesystem like ext3. Run a compatibility layer as a non-privileged user for legacy support. Add a Sudoku game.

More restrictions on companies never helps anyone.
Companies don't like rules. They will try to break the rules. Police will have to enforce the rules. Said enforcement will mean that companies leave the country or shut down. Importing goods is expensive for the consumer, and bad for the economy at large.
I haven't taken any economics courses, but this makes sense to me. Any beancounters out there want to correct me?
I'm enrolled in the PA Cyber Charter School, who uses blackboard. The web interface is less than elegant and is extremely buggy. In testing mode, sometimes questions are marked wrong when right or right when wrong, or there's two identical answers (in which case, the correct answer is one of the two, but only one of the two will be accepted as right).
If anyone is thinking of using blackboard for a startup, beat them down with a steel baseball bat and hire them a LAMPS expert to write their own version.
The Beaver Nuclear Power Plant isn't censored, and it's practically a prime target! (Near a Major city, able to contaminate water supply for hundreds of miles, produces a lot of power, etc.)
The Federal Reserve should tighten the money supply... just a little bit for now. Sure, Interest rates would increase, but I've got no debt to pay off and I've got a good bit of money (for a teenager with no job, anyway) saved in the bank that could do with some payments:-3
Our government is failing us and we have only ourselves to blame. I just wonder how long it will be until the rest of the country realizes this.

Imagine all the possibilities! You could make someone do something just by yelling at them loud enough!!

I was considering switching to Tmobile from Cingular... and this repels me more than Cingular's Shitty phones.

It's so simple that it might just work!

would you mind giving me feedback on it? What opinions do I need to add, what don't you agree with me on (and why, if you have the time), etc.
