I can't tell you how many times my Grandmother has gotten things done simply by doing this.
One example of this was when she wrote about how the state patched the roads poorly. Around here, they only do a strip along the shoulder to try to level the road. They skip spots now and then and when it's done poorly it tends to wear on the right suspension more than your left. She drives this road on a regular basis (to and from town) and rarely travels any other roads. She wrote a letter, included a copy of the repair bill for her car and kindly asked for the road to be fixed. She explicitly stated she didn't want them to pay for her car, but included the bill so they could see how much it cost her. Less than one month later, they repaved the entire road from the corner past her house all the way into town. It desperately needed repaired, so it wasn't really a "waste" of tax dollars (except for the fact that some idiot got paid to do a poor job in the first place.)
But Sony did give them a chance. They had sued them before (along with Microsoft and Nintendo) and Lik-Sang basically ignored them and continued their shady practices under the guise that they weren't breaking any laws in Hong Kong (or was it Korea?). If I were Sony, I would have done the same thing.
You can swat at the fly and they remain around, but use a bigger fly-swatter or gas them out and you'll see results.
Or you could take my case. I've grown a habit of putting one finger on the top edge of the blade to keep it against my face. That sixth blade would make it hard to maintain that habit. I'm sure I'd need to keep a stock of bandages next to the sink for a few days.
I was talking to a guy in his mid-twenties yesterday and Max came up in conversation. (We were talking about sound stutter issues in a program we are developing.) The guy didn't even know who Max Headroom was! I felt... cold. So cold.
I think I'm going to boycott this boycott. I'll add a few Sony titles to the Christmas list this year, wait for a PS3, and whatever else it takes.
WTF do I care about Lik-Sang for? I never bought anything from them, nor cared to.
How many Audio CDs have I stuck in my computer the past 10 years... none. They have other homes. Stereo Rack/Car. Do I agree with rootkits? Not really. But I don't cry about it.
Have I had a battery explode all over me burning my balls to a crisp? Nope.
Has my PS2 ever broke down? No, the thing just goes. It's awesome.
Seriously, given Sony has had some rough calls the past few years, does it call for an all out assault? Is this the same fervent attitude you had (still have) against Microsoft for their shady ways? How's that working out for you?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it just me or are "hybrid" kids usually much better looking (or is it much more interesting looking). This would point me to believe that through selection of "prettier" people, you are actually working toward a world of mixed races with fewer defects. This is backed by the thought of inbreading and the socially restrictive places in the world where you only ever see the offspring of a few genetic makeups. You don't have the genetic experimentation that a more social community has, but you get kids with more genetic defects (ie: webbed toes). So theoretically, if you inbred humans, you may actually produce far more interesting species.
It goes back to the evolutionary theory. If you have a pond full of tadpoles and they never mate outside that pool, your going to get mutation that may or may not result in a "better" line. You might develop a leg to push you out of the pond per say.
By only mating with those of your same line, you are promoting a change in the species, but never perfecting it.
But in regard to that, people should not force their ideals on kids that are not their own. Sure, you can exclude said kid from any activity you are running, but to tell some kid he needs to go to church and pray to God would be wrong. There are too many laws and "controlling" parents out there now that try to force these opinions on kids. As a parent, you are to instill the knowledge of what you think proper moral code is (as long as it jibes with local laws) and educate the kid that people have different opinions. It feels like kids are being pushed to be exact clones of someone's "ideal" child.
I'm not arguing against your point, but parents should be the primary responsible party in a kids life. If the kid does something wrong, the parent of the kid should be 90% of the focus. In today's world we try to blame everything else first. If you find out your kid is listening to music that you don't like, sit them down and let them know how you feel about it. Don't blame the music.
Does anyone else stop at the part where the OP says, "Politics aside, this is a bad idea because.." and wonder how you can put politics aside, then go on to detail your idea on how it will hurt Firefox?
I actually switched to be able to extend Firefox to do multiple things (including adBlock on page). The tabbed browsing was a major plus and I can't go back to non-tabbed. I also enjoy finding out how many "non-standard" websites are out there. Luckily, I have the IETab extension that lets you open IE browse sessions in a tab in Firefox. I can't say I joined up because it was "the cool thing to do", but I saw a feature set that interested me.
I have not had this memory leak everyone talks about, and it still loads blazingly fast on my machine. It makes me wonder if these people experiencing the leaks and slow loads have a particular extension or group of extensions that might be doing this instead of FF?
And yes, I did do Web Development when I switched and I can't stand looking at code or logic that thinks that IE is the major browser. Mostly due to the fact that it's easier to code W3C standard and adapt it for IE than vice versa. This is strictly my opinion though, just as your post was yours.

So, your theoretically making the body work less...
Isn't that like saying your car engine will run longer if you don't run it at redline all the time?
I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, "Shenanigans."
Hey Farva what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?

Both quotes are laced with falic symbology:
"AMD has a lot of balls in the air right now."
"AMD's current pickle[...]"
"[...]makes it a little easier to swallow[...]"

It's better to have relations with a human being than to a machine.
Damnit! I always screw that up. *smacks self on the forehead*

Well if that's not taken, I'm sure enough money will garnish them trademark rights to Microchip.
So wouldn't that disprove (in what little information we have) the master race theory?

Yeah, but when it really boils down to it, the Managers seems to always get what they want anyway.
It speaks in Arabic, but utters in English? Does this mean it was written around the English language or the Arabic?

I suppose if all I did all day long was manually transfer files from one window to another, it might be true.
Too bad Slashdot get's in the way of my mouse.
I read about as far as "First, to prevent heavy metal poisoning..." and I had flashbacks of concerts long past.

I'm sure a certain "unnamed" company either already owns that, or they will lay claim to it after all is said and done.
The web has turned into the biggest gossip spreading rumor mill in history... Oprah would be proud.
