    You're basically subsidizing all the other people who end up at the ER without health insurance and who otherwise can't pay. We already have de facto socialized medicine in the USA.

    I don't know about that. Corporations are not just things, they are collections of people. A corporation is nothing without people. Look at the first amendment to the USA constitution:

    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

    Since a corporation is an assembly of people, does it not follow that they are allowed to petition the government?

    Depends where you are. In Somalia, it would seem that the government (and everyone else) does indeed fear the people.

    Are you sure about that? I bought the Windows 7 upgrade and put it on my computer. I didn't have a prior version of Windows. It still runs after all these months.

    You know what? Obama is also white! Most people really forget that he's half Irish.

    While I'm at it, most people consider Tiger Woods black, but he's only 1/4 African. He's also 1/4 Thai and 1/4 Chinese, so it's more accurate to say he's Asian.

    You know what else De Beers is peeved about? Man-made diamonds. They're cheaper and more ethical than anything De Beers can find in Sierra Leone.

    Get yourself a kill a watt meter and find out. My Athlon64 computer with 7200 RPM 500 GB hard drive idles at 40 W. The TV, when off, still pulls 5 W! Now I just plug everything but the computer to a common surge protector and flip it's switch when I'm not watching TV or playing console games

    No, courts would probably strike down a law making copyrights not expiring, hence adding more years to existing copyright law. I think there was a court argument regarding this but I can't seem to find it.
