I have a creative Zen xtra. I got the 40 gig for about $200 dollars less then the iPod. Sure its not perfect but it works and the huge wad of cash I saved always makes me feel better if the software begins to frustrate me a little or I wish I could put my purchesed music straight on my player.
But Im all for Creative getting a little justice out of this. Apple is a computer company then they come along and act like they invented portable media. For the record there were portable battery powered record players before Steve Jobs hotwired his first PC. Apples innovation can jump off a cliff. They didn't even develop the iPod they just bought it and made it shiny. I believe Creative is greatly under appreciated and maybe not the best company ever but they have done a lot for poratable media. They had a mini half gig player long before apple did and it actually has a screen but people love shiny objects so they go for the apple product.
But wouldnt the particles flying off be extreamly hot or come off in some sort of radiation? Im not to good at particle physics. I need a refresher. Im just saying even then it would be dangerous.
A saber is not necassarily that hot. It could just be very well focused. That and it can cut easily because it has no solid pressance so theres little or no drag. Not to mention a jedi is very stong so they can put a lot of force behind the blade.
Think of it this way. blades work on surface tension. when the blade is a few particles wide it doesnt need to be hot or need much force to cut.
yeah but adamantium is extreamly hard. I didnt think it was etreamly tough to hot or cold. Dont be like no it cant be melted with enough energy anything can melt freeze burn whatever.
But assuming the sword wouldnt just tear right through the metal the fight would be amazing. Still think a jedi would win. Force powers trump almost anything.
Im gonna just assume that Intel gave Apple a good deal on their chip b/c they knew this new silicon would be ready soon. That way they get a big peice of the market and still get to have the cutting edge.
Teach proper terminology. I think this is most important. Keep it simple and inform people what a monitor is, a hard drive, memory, power supply, video card, sound card, motherboard etc. They dont need to know what the difference is between Nvidia and ATI or a good speed for a hard drive. But when I explain something to a laymen friend and they dont know the difference between space (hard drive space) and memory. Or my boss saying she paid $3000 for 2 hard drives when she ment two new computers.
Talk about how to use google to find out how to fix simple problems like spyware or where to find codec's.
Maybe a short chaper on how to clean a computer. Just a simple open and spraying a little compressed air. Ive seen computers with a nice layer of dust covering everything. A power supply literally filled with dust.
Be sure to tell people that just because they read your book doesnt mean they know everything there is to know. Its sad when people talk like they know everything but they still dont know how to empty their recycyling bin.
Tell people to stop keeping everything on their desktop.
The difference between the internet, OS and hardware problems.
Explain that computers arnt that hard to use or understand. It just takes a little time and patience. Dont be overwhelmed just stay calm and go one step at a time. The computer wont run away from you and if something bad happens it can probably can be fixed so dont be afraid to try to tweek and attempt repairs. Laymens shouldnt play with windows fills or the registry but they can delete un-important files, defrag hard drives, install software and tweek settings.
As a waiter sometimes working hours that I would rather not I would get very tired so Ive experimented with coke coffee blends. Its a bit strange but I like it. Its like orange and Creme pops doesnt sound great at frist but you like it anyway. Also Ive seen stuff like this done before. There a product called manhattan soda or something like that its like carbonated coffee. Also chocolate soda and strawberry milk soda.
For the record he didnt say mod he said make a game and publish and distrobute it. Those guys with the GTA mod dont count they didnt even make it right. Also despite the fact that it was a lame satire it was satire just read A modest proposal http://art-bin.com/art/omodest.html> . HE refered to his video game as 'A modest video game proposal' Get it? Yeah it's lame but if your an english major or very well educated you would recognize it. I feel stupid for not seeing it before he said it was satier.
When I saw the tailgate up or down myth I immediatly thought of my uncle who had one of those mesh tailgated that allow air to move but keep your stuff in the back. Maybe it worked for him or maybe it was just good advertising.
Now theres a myth I would like to see done. I personally drink a lot of this tuff sometimes and I know its mostly suger water but I have some chemistry and anatomy knowlegde and it seems like some of the stuff should work but I have no evidence. Oh a Bawls definatly does what it says b/c its just a ton of caffine and suger.

As a person who has worked in several resturants over several years I would like to see this myth "busted" or confirmed. The place I have worked in longer then any other has constant repair problems with the ice machine and I often wonder if we were to cut back on the ice would it save us money.
On the subject of ice me and my father have debated this and hes a smart man and he claims he tested it; What freezes faster hot water or cold water?
All that is a very good point but you still seem to admit it was satire. And your right it wasnt very good satire. I think of it a bit like sarcasm you have to do it so people cant tell but will figure it out before they take you seriously.
Also the mod that was made is nothing like what Thompson proposed not to mention it wasnt sold, manufactured, marketed or 2006.
But I dont think that was it. I think that after no one pointed out that it was ment as satire (and a piss poor one at that) he figured it would be a good move to make it look like the gameing community and industry was a bunch of idiots. Frankly I do feel kind of dumb for not seeing it sooner in the title but if you ask me Thompsons a bigger idiot for not being a decent writer and believeing that video games are "murder simulators". Yeah I play duke nukem 3D to pratice running around with my plasma rifle and Jet Pack. And doom taught me a lot about shooting a BFG 1000 and shooting straight without looking up or down.
This is a great point and I love it
This modest proposal is trying to make fun of fiction because it is fiction. This is no different than making a satire of a satire - it just doesn't work.
While I think it was not fair of him to offer a donation for what he later called satire Jack Thompson made it semi clear that it was in fact a satire. While the violence was over the top his suggestion wasnt. However if you paid attention in high school or college you may have heard of a work know as "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift. One of the early and most well known satires about Swift suggesting that Ireland suffering from Famine and poverty should eat and sell their children for food. Note the title of Jack Thompsons proposal "A Modest Video Game Proposal."
For the record I am not siding with Jack Thompson but I'm not the smartest man in the world but when he claimed his work was ment to be satire I put 2 and 2 together so I would hope someone else has.
Also I would bet the someone here may have already pointed this out but with upwards of 300 posts I'm not going sift through them all.
Look it up or read it here. Its short and sadistically funny. http://www.english.upenn.edu/~jlynch/Courses/95c/T exts/modest.html

Sorry rant over.
I dont mean like little bits of metal. Im thinking of atoms and sub atomic particles. But like I said I do need to brush up
