Was at LinuxWorld NYC two years ago. Drove in and parked at the lot two blocks north of Javits center. This particular lot has these automated 'lifts' that allows them to 'stack' one car on top of another. Well, they tried to back my Durango with ski racks under one of these lifts, and sheared the bolted-on Yakima rack off. They put it back into place, and thoughtfully forgot to tell me about the incident when I go to pick up the truck late that day.
Drive through the Lincoln tunnel and stop off at the first rest stop in Jersey. Turn around and look at my truck, and the rack's hanging off the passenger side of the truck.
Was just shy of filling a lawsuit to get the money to fix the $2000 damage to the truck.
Funny thing was, when I picked up the truck I walked around it looking for dents, scrapes, etc. Never thought to check out the roof....
Playing D&D, Runequest, Melee/Wizard/The Fantasy Trip back oh so many years ago. Hell, my friends even had a Wargaming company going for a while (Jersey Devil Game Company/Centurion). Early 1980's Origins conferences at Widner College...
That's *North* Jersey - the land of chemical plants, the Sopranos and the New York (what state to we play in?) Giants and Jets. Ugh.
Why do you think that back on Election Day in 1980, 51 percent of voters in six South Jersey counties declared in a non-binding referendum that they wanted to secede and establish a new state?
- faxing - No efax for me, thanks! - Brinks security system - keep the bad guys away! - local number - I don't mind a number within my area code, just don't only give me one that's 60 miles away. Now all my local calls have LD calls to make...
We're running Debian on several xSeries systems. At first, we were having problems with server lockups. While it turned out to be a problem with the XFS file system, IBM supported us by swapping out just about the entire server.
They won't support the software, but they will support their hardware running it.
I just purchased my 30 GB Neuros II last week from American Techpushers (J and R has it cheaper, but they were OOS until just yesterday). Yes, the backpack makes it a bit big, but the built-in capabilities of the unit offset this. OGG support, FM transmitter, Linux support with NDBM, etc. make this a unit for the serious geek.
The previous record for a film winning all its nominations was nine, set by "Gigi" (1958) and "The Last Emperor" (1988).
"Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King" tied both "Ben-Hur" (1959) and "Titanic" (1997) with its 11 awards, the record for most Oscars in a single year.
"Rings" is also the first fantasy film to win the top award.
Aside from best picture, the awards "Return of the King" won were: director (Peter Jackson), adapted screenplay (Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens), song ("Into the West"), score (Howard Shore), visual effects, art direction, costume design, makeup, sound mixing and film editing.

True story, still have the pictures...
No, his webserver is a Commodore 64.

Ah, the memories...
Try the Beta 2 version of OpenOffice 2.0 - it's much improved over the 1.x releases.

Thank you.
Could you open an office out where I live??
getting my kids used games for their N64. There's no way I'm going to spend that kind of money on them (5 & 7) when they can destroy a disc so easily.
Besides, the type of games I'd want them to play are much more available for the N64 (Mario Party, SM64, etc).
When the Revolution comes out, I'll think about getting that, if I don't get some emulators running on my MythTV box by then.
they might have gotten pressured by Microsoft?
Skynet's a bit delayed in coming online.
I'd like to find a SL-5600, but they've all seemed to have disappeared off the face of the Earth.
What pda is popular now that either runs Linux natively, or through a port??
I thought they were dead!!!
How about Windows Pacer, Windows Pinto or best of all, Windows Edsel Edition???
they're gonna lose in the NFC Championship game for the fourth straight year!
Don't flame me, I'm an Eagles fan too! Just had my heart ripped out too many times...
I can find a provider that *officially supports*:
- faxing - No efax for me, thanks!
- Brinks security system - keep the bad guys away!
- local number - I don't mind a number within my area code, just don't only give me one that's 60 miles away. Now all my local calls have LD calls to make...

Creative Computing...
Ah, the memories of Air Traffic Controller.
I'd like to be able to print directly from the Snapshot app. I'd also like to be able to select a single window instead of just the entire desktop.
How about being able to have a different wallpaper on each workspace?
either approve the new servers, or your Mercedes is next!
but may be of some value:

So, would you go out with me if I was the last man alive???
Yes? Hmmmmmmm....
I used this article as the basis for my smtp gateway and it works fairly well:
