If you say you are 'Open Source', then it seems to me you have to have sources that are open and not closed. So if you can't download it (or the recipe for for it as in Open Source Beer), then its not open. Period. End of story.
What if other beings are on a similar technological timeline as ours? How could we have colonized the galaxy since our space exploration has begun? Seems kind of idiotic as to be used as proof that we are the only beings in the universe... This kind of reminds me of a manager who thinks a perfect computer system is easy to develop and doubts you when you tell her/him that it will take actual time to design/implement/test/deploy/maintain...
...and what does that make you?? I am not here to sing Vista's praises, but Microsoft's philosophy is no different than that of the company who made the car you are driving... Lets say you need a new front seat for you Ford. You can't exactly call up Chevrolet and say, 'Hey can you beat this price Ford is quoting me for a front seat?' I think the reason we have OS X is that Microsoft put out good enough software for Apple to see the writing on the wall and realize that OS 8 wasn't going to keep up. Same goes for Linux. Do you think Ubuntu came about in a vacuum? No, its compared to XP's ease of use every day by just about anybody trying to get a Windows user to switch.
This is the power of social networks. Everyone may mutter to themselves 'Oh, I told everyone I know about Psychonauts,' but did those people pass the message along? Obviously not like GTA 3 spread. Its only sad if you cared about the game in the first place.
As a side note, and just to make sure I get nailed as offtopic as well as flamebait, another great game that never really took off was Kung Fu Chaos...
If you are going to steal music anyway, why bother using an iTunes account? Also, do you really think Apple would let you buy and return lots of songs? I am sure they would suspend your account if you never actually buy and keep anything. They'd be idiots not to.
First off, eMusic RULES... But mainly if you like indie or jazz music. Only then do they have "some of the the *EXACT SAME SONGS*", but the other 70% of the world's music isn't on there.
Might not be the case if he has a cover letter that concisely states your salary requirements and explains that he doesn't really want to retire into a golf, travel, or idle lifestyle.
the client has gone to court over software development in the past
Was this over software ownership, quality of development, or something else? Seems like you know this firm well and you are suspicious. Make sure your lawyer understands why so this perceived risk is covered by whatever you get in writing.
I agree with one exception: Singulair. Honestly the only medicine advertised on TV today where I would be upset that it wasn't available if they took it off the market.
Then our new and improved prescription drugs might be right for you! See your doctor today to find out because obviously he wouldn't tell you about the medicines you really need. Side effects include insomnia, diarrhea, ulcers, cramps, and in some rare cases death. If you have a pulse, please notify your doctor of this condition before taking our product.
I think we need an Insurance Institute for Internet Safety which can deem a computer 'totaled' in the event of a motherboard loss so that you can get an insurance payout - probably around $7 - and a salvage title for the machine.
Just like to point out: you don't have a Powerbook with 256MB in it, you had one of those. Now you have one that has 768MB which is more than 512MB - the painful amount I was talking about. Try running iTunes, iPhoto, or iMovie and then fire up Dashboard or Spotlight. After that, start any program and you might as well go out and get a coffee, because Tiger is no slouch when it comes to eating up RAM.
All over the internets - in every single tube, in fact - there are pictures of Vista sitting on store shelves next to empty displays for Apple's OS X. I was going to buy 10 copies to sell on eBay today, but obviously nobody wants this OS. NOBODY is buying it!
Means and standard deviations are not exactly mind bending statistical exercises. I wonder if they accounted for different biases in the data from their "play sessions." Who was playing these games and what was their motivation for being there? Were they industry people? Developers? Testers? Beta Testers? and etc...
And programming us babies takes a long long time and lots of love and attention, I might add. I wonder if a computer will ever think back to a conversation it had years ago and think 'Man, was I ever a Windows Box back then...'
Most Mac people will, but what about the recent switchers, especially those that took the plunge because of the intel macs? I imagine most of them will see a $129 OS upgrade as kind of expensive.
$199.99 - $169.99 = $30 less and not $40.
It is from PC World and not Scientific American.

Do you really want Dell craplets in your Linux Distro anyway?

I don't think this guy is really sweating a $79 iPod shuffle or even a $600 iPhone for that matter.

Did AMD and Via come together and get class action status?

So you won't run OS X 10.4? Honestly, its the same. You could run Tiger on 512MB, but its P A I N F U L L Y S L O W
There will be people trying to return opened copies of this. Guaranteed. Poor Best Buy and Circuit City workers. Its going to be a nightmare.

I did this very same thing back in 2004. That is how I can say I lost $500K in the great Jersey Hail Storm of 2005.
