Correct me if I am wrong but Libya is in Africa. Nowhere in the article does it mention any Asian country. It says that these were found in Libya which is Africa but then goes on about these animals crossing over from Asia to Africa. So, where exactly were these fossils found?

Basically the same here in Tallinn, Estonia. We just have a sign that says the area you are in, city center, old town, etc. You just text the area your in and your license plate number. You can either get a 1 hour permit, 6 hour permit, or just a metered one that charges you for the time you where there (you send another message when you leave and it just calculates how long you where there). Its not more expensive, same price as using the machines and its super easy.

I don't see why more places don't do this. Instead of running to the meter every hour to throw another quarter in the machine, just send a sms from wherever you are.

You would think if they spammed Estonia, they would do it in Estonian but I have never gotten any in Estonian. Even the company's inbox where I work gets only Russian spam.

It shows up in my gmail every day and what sucks is no matter how many of them I mark as spam (they are for sure spam, I got my Russian friend to translate a few and they are all about pills and whatnot) I still get them in my inbox. Or you are loading stuff into the back seat and the stupid front door keeps popping the handle in and out for no reason just you are coming and going often. There are more reasons to be in your car without it on but, this being slashdot, I am sure you haven't had the experience yet.

Sigh, once again, lets go over the facts. It was Russia who Estonia accused of helping with the cyber attacks. Basically all the IPs that were being used to DDoS originated from Russia and with some radical Russian youth people also taking credit for the attacks. It was not just one lone hacker like everyone likes to think, just 1 guy got fined because Estonia can't go into Russia and start arresting people. You can read my previous comment about this the last time someone ignorant like you started spewing garbage everywhere here: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=553424&cid=23414966 Next up, no there is not some "serious cyberforce" running around policing the interwebs or whatever you got in your head. A school, a training facility, was setup so governments from around the world could collaborate and get information on what to do incase your country is cyber-attacked. Its training ground, not a "force" in any way. Who gave you this idea anyway? Last, what bullshit do you smell? Your own? The domains were found and taken down right quick. Everything was handled quickly and professionally, no bullshit there. Why are you complaining or are you just trying to troll on Estonia?

Seriously this is not about putting the government in charge, its about allowing the internet to remain open. How in the world would it be more neutral if the markets get their way? The markets are proving they can not stay neutral, they want more money without doing any work such as upgrading infrastructure. Obviously, they can't stay neutral because they will always choose what makes them more money, thats not neutral. If the government steps in and says "quit messing with the traffic that goes through the tubes" that will force them to stay neutral.

Really, not everything the government does is this horrible plot to enslave humanity and yes, corporations step out of line from time to time and need to be slapped back down. This is a perfect example of such a time.

Holy shit! You obviously don't understand anything. Nobody liberated Estonia, ever, except for the Estonians themselves linky and linky 2 (granted we got a bit of help from our neighbors). We (I am an Estonian) do NOT prefer Nazis. We just hate both Soviets and Nazis. If there was some crazy Nazi war memorial at the same place it would have been removed as well.

Also, how in the world is removing a Soviet statue saying "I love Nazis"? Every single year the Russians would gather at the memorial during VE day and get wasted and wave the Soviet flag around. Naturally the Estonians would come by with signs like "During the occupation X amount of people were deported" and whatnot. Then a fight would break out and the cops would have to come stop a small scale riot from breaking out because someone told these idiots the truth. To stop this from escalating we moved the monument. We did not destroy it, we did not desecrate the bodies, we did not cut the statue into pieces as the Durma said, we moved it with full respect for the dead.

Saying we prefer Nazis is strange. My own family was killed by the Nazis and my grandfather deported to Germany to work in a forced labor camp till the war ended and the guards just disapeard one day. I hate Nazis. I have about 1 or 2 living relatives left in Estonia because of that. But that does not make me a Soviet lover. You don't have to pick a side here, you can hate both.

Yes, we made our choice. We chose freedom and thats what we have. Don't like it, comrade? Tough.

Here, I will do it since everyone on slashdot believes this even though in the original slashdot article that is cited when this is said says nothing of the sort. Dmitri Galushkevich was the guy who was fined. Somebody had to be hung, he was the only one to get caught. The Russian Youth leader idiot guy claims responsibility as well link let alone the probability that there were others who joined in but who knew how to keep their mouth shut. When a bank is robbed by a group but only 1 person is caught, he was the sole perpetrator all of a sudden? The original article even says:

Because the attacks were botnet-driven and launched from servers all over the globe, however, it's impossible to state definitively that only a single individual was involved.
Oh and blaming Russia is a fairly safe bet here. You don't think the Russian Youth is funded through charity I hope. Also, the blockade of the Estonian Embassy in Moscow just magically had electricity and all the finer points of camping. And all the people who joined in the blockade just magically were able to quit their jobs for quite some time because it would be just unheard of if they had been paid to protest.

I'm guessing their websites cater mostly to Estonians which basically means they consistently failed to take scaling into account. Estonia doesn't need a Cyber Defence Hub. Just a bit of common sense.
Thats just stupid. Since nearly every single bank user in Estonia uses online banking and since there are a million different services provided online by the government the servers have been setup with scaling in mind. That 1.3 million will hit the tax website on the first day that you can file you taxes (yes, we do all our taxes online) and the server does just fine. Do it the good ol' Estonian way? Estonians use online banking to pay every bill that they get, I don't know anyone that does not, but you will never hear anyone complain about fraud, why?

Because we get a seperate card when you sign up for online banking that has 36 unique 6 digit numbers each a seperate password per-say.

When you login, your username is another 6 digit number that you are given (but which is perminant) then you have to enter your password (which you are forced to change every month). Then if those 2 are correct it will ask you for a random password off that card. Then, even after that if you want to transfer money to any account then you have to enter another one of those passwords.

Sounds a bit tedious when you write it down, but its really very easy because you just remember your username number and your password then when it says "Password 25:" you just take a glance at your card and bam, your in. Even if someone stole my wallet and had all my ID's they would not be able to have anything changed without a paper sent to my address notifing me, which is not printed on a single one of my Estonian issued ID's and thus would be hard to get.

Needless to say, I have never heard of a single case of identity theft in this country.
