If this and the tr2n link were together, it would have been news and certainly news that I'd be interested in. "Leaked trailers from Comic-Con uploaded onto the web". This is news for nerds, and comic book movies are the stuff of nerds.
There were some excellent comics that were out in the 90's. The problem wasn't 'comics' in general, but Marvel milking their fans with multiple #0's and #1's, metallic covers, lousy plots, awful dialogue and poor pencilling. I assume that contributed to their near bankruptcy.
Odd, I don't know why I'm marked as Troll. I thought that was a valid question. Seriously, people that can't drive without enhancements should be off the road, making it safer for everyone else. Mandatory testing after a certain age should be a requirement.
LOL, just because you don't believe something shouldn't be law, doesn't mean it's not. For all your huffing, puffing, and insisting I'm wrong, it doesn't change civil law.
The act of circumventing copy protection, for whatever reason, is against the DMCA. Period.
That's a good question. Being around the internet since it was publicly available to anyone who had the money, I've certainly seen some questionable material (especially when I was sub 18), but they've never looked to be exploited and I'm quite sure they would be fucking regardless of whether their was a camera on them or not, or whether they were being paid. But, that's a good point... I don't believe I've ever seen an exploited 'child' (although I've never looked for it, and never will).
Wow, I didn't mean to get you so incensed. I'm glad your dictionary is working... well, at least for my words. I'd meant to write naivete (with an accent aigu) and I'm glad you caught that typo, AND learned a new big people word!
While I hate to get off topic, I can't help but find it wildly amusing that you call me an idiot and a troll, and then suggested that I stop 'throwing insults around', and proceed to involve irony.
Regardless of how 'sophisticated' you feel your positions are, they've been argued in the court of law, in larger first world countries, and failed. People contravening satellite security were saying the same thing for years, as were those creating, selling and installing mod chips, hell even softmods are illegal. The way you think the law should be, and the way the lawyers properly interpret the law (whether you agree with it or not) are two completely different things. While I may agree with your stance, the court of law does not.
Oh, and, Microsoft *CAN* sue you for formatting your hard drive and installing Linux as you're circumventing their copy protection and security measures to install it. They just don't, as it's probably not a good idea on their part, for many reasons.
No, seriously, I'm a small OEM / Var / System Builder in Canada and almost ALL my clients are requesting Windows XP Professional. I'd say about 30% of my market is Vista. It's not that hard, Microsoft has finally updated our skus, opk and media to Windows XP SP3 to it's not that hard to provide you with what you need. And our OPK automated installation set hasn't changed in years, so it's probably easier and cheaper for us to offer you XP.
Thank you, I'm glad someone is being sensible and not hopping on the FUD train. Windows Firewall (ie. packet filtering) is enabled on a default installation of Windows XP, and the entire article and most of these comments are completely fictitious and don't apply to Windows XP post SP2.
For kicks, I put a fresh install of XP SP2 directly onto one of our public IP's about an two hours ago, and it has yet to get 'owned'. Seriously, all Slashdot needs to hate on Microsoft is a cute little blog with a couple paragraphs saying that their Windows was lolownd without any proof, and they'll fill up pages of Linux pwns Windows.
It's mind boggling that third party apps (Ultramon, Oscar) or drivers (Matrox, Nvidia) have had better dual monitor support for Windows since NT, yet Microsoft hasn't implemented any of their features. As far as I can see, nothing changed in regards to dual monitor features since Windows 2000.
These days web pages comprise of multiple sources, often displaying content from multiple servers. Consider that 'back in the day' a web site was a static HTML file with multiple links. These days we have a 'site' linking to an image server, media server, advertising server, with sql backbones and other content providers. When one of these sites fail, often the whole works goes down.
Personally, I don't notice an increased frequency in site downtimes with any of the services that I use and I don't feel this is newsworthy. Of course, I don't use Twitter so maybe that's why.
If you have full access t to the system, start logging EVERYTHING. I'm sure eventually you'll find someone going to a myspace, facebook or checking email.
Write down the IP address, find the ISP and call them and ask them to log that you called with the date and time, and the IP address. I wouldn't expect you to tell you who it is, but have them log the user at that time so you can reference it later.
Also 6 digits starting with 11. I've long since forgotten my smaller number, which was a year newer and possibly 5 digits (if they had it; memory sketchy).
Yes, ICQ is still big in China (Oicq) and Russia. Consider that the IM to first and fully support a character set will probably get the widest use, not to mention Oicq was fully integrated into cell phones long ago.
The Australians claim it's only a US problem? The CRTC here in Canada would disagree.
Agreed. No changes in spam over here, my domain is still receiving the daily average of about 100 per day.
If I read TFA correctly, you need to have been using your TPM to experience this problem?

Why are people that require 'driving enhancements' allowed to drive in the first place?
circumventing copy protection != removing copy protection

The FreeBSD Handbook, Google and a couple hours will have you recompiling the kernel to suit your needs with ease, and it'll boot in no time.
Naivety is not a valid argument in the court of law.

For some free to air and various other obscure channels. I don't know if any of that will change next year.

No, in fact I thought the Croatian had the most amazing handwriting, that was so legible and actually looked like a font itself.

No problems here using Miranda IM. (http://www.miranda-im.org/)
