Its not about Iran leadership or their competency.

No one ever answers the basic question the Iranian people are asking, why the hell are they not allowed nuclear technology. They want nukes, they have just as much of a right to nuclear arms as much as the country that invaded a sovereign nation and killed innocents through the use of nukes. GWBush is as much a mad man as Ahmedenijad. When Israel denies existence of Palestian, takes over their land, makes nukes, no one sees a much of a problem because powerful lobbies have investments in Israel, on the other hand if Iranian leadership denies existence of Israel, that is a problem, again because those powerful lobbies have investment in Israel.

Don't tell me you don't see a problem with these double standards. Israel's nukes are justified because its surronded by hostile nations. Well my man, that is the same problem that Iran has, its surrounded by hostile forces, USA and Israel.

Everyone talks about destabilization of the region if/when Iran becomes nuclear. What they are really saying is that damn we wont be able to make them do what we want.

Screw the leftist/rightist, I never got that anyway, the only way I look at it is why is it fair for one nation to have nukes while not the other. Nation that has used nukes on humans should remove nukes before telling others to do so.

When RIAA comes after your ass you are concerned for your privacy and rights, when the same lobbies enforce are anti-Iran policies you support them. Where I come from there is a qoute, "A frog born in a well dies in the well". Leave your well and look at things from a more nuclear prospective. Walk a mile in Iranian shoes, when its 40C outside (BTW, thats 104F) and they have a power cut, nuclear power seems like a very good option.

You complain about Iran's leadership, look at the leadership of the west, the capitalist lobbies are eating western countries from inside(USA in particular), much the same way the extremists are eating away middle east.

Its all perspective. If Iran's not a popular country, don't think America is either. Go walk in Europe and talk to people, they will tell you what they think of the almighty US of A. No doubt USA is a world power and most countries can be bribed into doing your bidding, but don't mistake that for friendship and respect. Don't be naive to world politics.

So here are the choices as I understand

    1) Iranian Incompetent: No treatment for AIDS, no saellite launch and no nukes RESULT: No problem
    2) Iranian Competent: Alternative treatment of aids, satellite launch and nukes RESULT: problem

If you look at the news source for that claim that Iran is supposed to have made, its quite clear its a political game of chess. ynetnews is a a political newspaper for Israel, its in their best interest to portray Iran as some dumb country under the rule of Ahmedenijad.

However this current news in sync with recent events happening in Iran. And yes the region will be destabalized, the question is will it be for the good or for the ad. IRaq war destabalized the region, was it for the good or for the bad. Further, whats more important is will this destabalization be for the good of the Iranian people or not.

I think the answer is that destabalization will benefit Iran in the long but is a blow to percevied control of west and its allies in that region. Technological breakthroughs are always bebeficial to a country in the long run as they do not have to rely on bread crums thrown at them by those on power. India proved that by going nuclear in the 70s itself. I was tough to live in India during the 80s because of those sanctions, BUT because of those sanctions India learned to be self sufficient, damn US turned back a cargo ship full of rice when India did its first tests in the 70s, people went hungry, today India is oneof the largest exporter of rice. We wouldnt have Basmati rice if it wasnt fo rthose nuclear tests.

So I say go Iran, just dont make those damn nukes.

Being a Muslim myself I really wanted to know "What the hell happened to Islam and Muslim?". Mulsim's were philosopher and thinkers, had scientist in all wake of life.

I did some research and discovered what happened?

Center of the Islamic civilization was Baghdad, when Mongols came to Baghdad, they burned all the libraries and every single book. Although they later converted to Islam, they took it back by centuries. Mongols were a race of warriors, modern day Islam is influenced by Mongols. All the thinkers and educators were lost when Mongols invaded various lands.

So over a very short period, Islam turned into a religion of warriors instead of thinkers.

Now, why haven't we recovered after so many years, well we can thank the present day Saudi Arabia for that (IMHO). Their flavor of Islam is that of the "word" written in Quran as opposed to the spirit of that word. Unfortunately, with their wealth and large reserve of oils, they get to influence a lot of people. Modern day al-qaeda is a direct result of "Wahabi Islam", the flavor of Islam followed by Saudi Arabia. I had the fortune of living in Saudi Arabia as my dad worked for consulting company there. The screwed up religious police you to beat kids if they were caught playing during prayer times. Its easy to see the unfortunate events of 9/11 are a direct off shoot of this thinking. Beat the damn kid if he doesn't follow Islam.

    Thats what happened to Islam.

I recently bought a projector that took HDMI, that is when I startedlooking for HDMI cables. Turns out the cheapest HDMI cable 3ft is for 30$-40$. if u want anything longer, your are looking at 100$ plus.

Researching more I discovered that reason for this is the specs, strangly yes, the specs. An article I read says the HDMI spec (an off shoot of DVI) was designed by computer engnineers and not video engineers. HDMI uses 4 twisted pair with no error correction (unlike TCP/IP) to send real time data and has a huge bandwidth requirements (HDTV). if they were video engineers they would have choosen coaxial. Anyhow, due to this, there are complications in the manufacturing of HDMI cables and achieving 100 ohm impedence is a big issue on these twisted pair cables. In fact for this reason true HDMI cables of any length more than 30ft are unheard of. anything larger and you have to get HDMI to optical converter on both src/dest. A costly affair.

Sony is a aggressive company and a rather successful one no matter what anyone says, more often than net they have researched the market very well and are the only ones offereing a good solution, eg: I wanted a video camera, in this day and age of HDTV I figured lets look at the market for HDTV video cameras. Sony was the only one that made a consumer level HDTV cam corder. Its a pretty good camcorder and a good product overall. The features are well thought off and gives me what I need.

This has happened more often than not forcing me to buy a Sony product. And my personal experience says that yes, they do innovate.

    Trinitron TV was an innovation
F707, sony cybershot was an innovation
their HD1 HD cam corder is an innovation.
    PSP is an innovation

    And like it or not
PS3 using a cell processor is an innovation, agreed Cell is not their innovation but using it knowing full well and taking a risk is.

In recent times, no other library besides Hibernate and Spring have influenced the Java community so much, these two methodologies have changed the way architects and developers make enterprize software. Infact large parts of EJB 3.0 specs are inflenced by Hibernate.

Now here comes a useless company and sues Redhat.

IMHO, if I see a company that has a legit product being harmed by real patent infringement, it does make sense for them to sue the offender. However in this case, there is no product to talk off, nor does it seem like there is going to be a competing product from them.

I think comparision between India and Japan is wrong. Japan was fighting the world during WWII i.e. it was a world power, India at the time was coming out of a British rule that had slaved it.

All Japan really had to do is recover from WWII and the nukes. India had to start from scratch. Its only been 55 odd years or so since British rule ended in India. 55 Years is not a lot of time for a country to get freedom and stand on its feat.

Closest I would compare here is that Japan has succeeded and India is still writing its exam, judgement is still out.

There is a reason to why everyone is worried about outsourcing to India. This is also where NASA can learn from India. Budget for ISRO is nothing compared to that of NASA, nonetheless ISRO is in a select class of organization that has managed to launch a one ton plus satellite into orbit.

This is where NASA has most to gain, getting things done for lesser costs. Further, no single event except for wars have helped technology as much as NASA's Man on the Moon mission.

ISRO's exploration of the moon has similar objectives as well.
