  1. Ignoring the obvious reason.... on Opting Out of Big Data Snooping: Harder Than It Looks · · Score: 2

Her insurance company probably sold the information once she was diagnosed, All insurance companies sell mailing list type information. When I was diagnosed with a potentially fatal disease several years ago I was suddenly deluged with emails and snail mail spam for prepaid funeral services. I eventually found that my friendly HMO had sold me out. I don't want to mention any names but the initial are KP.

More people die in falls than from firearms. The figures aren't even close. That's why we need ladders which are impossible to climb. It would save literally dozens of lives every year. A computer controlled chip attached to pressure switches in the base would automatically call the BATFLNHT (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms Ladders and Nose Hair Trimmers) who would immediately arrest the culprit under the Use a Ladder Go to Prison Law. To paraphrase Obama, if it saves only one life its worth it.

The main predators of lobsters are moray ells and the Wolffish, both of which are adapted to feed on crustaceans and have the jaws to crack lobster shells. The type of fish mentioned in the article couldn't eat a lobster to save their lives. The inference that greater lobster populations are the result of lower cod and halibut populations is as as silly as the inference that it is all because of global warming.

The heliopause is a lot further out than anyone ever thought when Voyager was launched.
