That's what I'm worried about too. In theory, this sounds like a good thing in certain circumstances, but what if everyone wants to make their town or village mosquitoless zone?

Larger use would certainly have an effect on ecosystem.

  2. Re:Those of you joking, it's no laughing matter. on Gaming Fanatics Show Hallmarks of Drug Addiction · · Score: 1

I'm addicted to playing, but I think it's pretty healthy. I get excited with a game, and may play it 'til 4 o'clock at the morning, but usually that's only weekends and I usually get tired of the game in a few weeks. And I study, work, have another friends and meet my friends. I know how addictive games can be but, well, it seems like your brothers don't have a treshold after which people normally get fed up with a game.

I'd guess social situations have become strange to them, and interaction with surroundongs via computers is so much easier than encountering real world. Something should happen to them to allow them to see the real world. Maybe if their electricity bills would 'disappear' from their mailbox, they wouldn't notice it? Cutting electricity down would force them to stop playing and see the real world for a while. Doesn't it usually take few days to get the power back on?

I don't know if this would work, but one solution that comes to my mind is roleplaying games. They could be able to continue to fighting fantastic creatures and gain themselves abilities, and still there would be social aspect - it would be beginning, wouldn't it? If you just can get them into it. You just might need a good advertising speech, and possibly be willing to get into rpg's yourself in the role of gamemaster.

that's how I refer to D&D. It's fun to play, like it may be fun to watch well done hollywood action movies - just don't start to think it too thoroughly. Latest D&D editions pretty much popularized roleplaying - we've even got D&D for dummies!

  4. There's a B5 game on Freespace 2 engine... on Babylon 5 Games Coming? · · Score: 1

I just can't find it anymore :( I found it with help of a local computers magazine. I heard it's really good, it's free and it's called "The Babylon Project Base 3.2". I haven't been able to test it due to my broken computer. Maybe the licence enforcements are back, once WB has seen how popular a freeware game based on B5 is, and that's why the game has disappeared?

I often search the web for material for my games, using words like names of different weapons, ritual magic, sacrifice, summoning demons, explosives and such - Would this put me under the magnifying glass?

  7. Kotor I is magnificent! on Old School Gameplay Collides With Modern Graphics · · Score: 1

KOTOR I is one of the greatest games I've seen for the last few years. I started to play it again after a while, mainly because of the atmosphere. While there's interesting things in KOTOR II, the atmosphere's not there, I got bored with the game.

Atmosphere is an important factor in Star Wars games. If it fails, the whole game is likely to fail.

  8. And what will this mean? on Amazon Gets Patent on Consumer Reviews · · Score: 1

I'm undecided about this. First I felt enraged as I begin to think about most of the consumer reviews losing from internet, but then I saw that this actually might be good. If there would be just one place where consumers could send their reviews about goods they have experience of, that might save everyone from hours of googling when looking for opinions! This can be good, or this can be bad - but the idea of someone being able to make such patent IS bad.

  9. Re:Tell them that by staying you are running a lar on End Of Days Compensation Packages? · · Score: 1

Well said! If the company isn't showing loyalty to you, why should you show loyalty to them? You'd just be used selfishly. Think of this if you have problems with consciousness when quitting for another job. Compensation from the employer would benefit both, the employee gets some security for the future and the employer can be sure that work is well done until the end.
