People are wearing masks in big cities like Mexico and Tokyo because the air is becoming unbreathable. But of course, humans have nothing to do with that, there has been other times where the air on some part of the planet was non-breathable. It's not like human presence has any effect on anything. And why in god's name should good ol' America have to spend trillions of dollars just so the Earth doesn't become a wasteland 500 years from now, it's not like we'll be here then right?
Various people have various needs. For every individual who needs ambitious work and a good challenge, there is another individual who NEEDS routine work where no brain work is involved.
As they say, having too many generals and not enough soldiers is not a good thing. Fortunately, not that many people really want to be generals, managers, PHB or whatever position needs to take responsibilities. Just looking around here on/. how many people would rather code all day long than have to do a manager's work. I'm pretty sure that the non-techie type in the population see programmer's job as being as boring as wiping floors, yet there a bunch of people willing to do it and loving it.
The key is to doing what you love is to know yourself, know your needs, so you can translate them into something productive.
Even though the iPod Nanos and other similar MP3 players are very small, it still is a bit of a bother to have yet one more device in my brief case.
So, how the heck am i supposed to listen to my music on my way to work with this thing? Oh right, on my laptop with an antenna! Sure.
Of course, i also want to take the time to upload 35Gb worth of music on some server i'm not even sure will still be there 1 year from now. Damn right...
Honestly, except for being inexpensive, i can't any advantages to subscribing to thing service instead of having an MP3 player.
I'd rather have spam enter my inbox than have legitimate emails end up in the spambox. In that sense, I wouldn't consider a program (like Hotmail here) whose filters are too restrictive (read: put too much in the spambox) as too good, au contraire i would say it's too bad to even use.
A good Bayesian spam filter:

I've been using it for a few months, and so far i think only 2-3 spam have managed to enter my mailbox, and had no false positive (good emails ending up in the spambox).
Will the Americans rename the French music piracy to "Freedom music piracy"? Ironically, in this instance the use of the word Freedom would actually make sense.
I have a different take on the whole AC thing. I created my account a few weeks ago. Before that, for the last 2-3 years I posted on/. every once in a while as an AC, because... well, I just couldn't be bothered to go throught the process of creating an account. Some would call it laziness, I call it a lack of interest. I just don't see the point in creating accounts everywhere I go, unless I have a clear interest or if it's mandatory.
I suspect that there might be a whole bunch of other people here who post as AC for the same reason. Anyone care to corroborate?
Good line of reasoning, it would mean something if extroverts actually did problem solving. You see, extroverts don't solve problems so much as they create them.
I'm not saying that you will automatically find something your size in these type of pants, but increasing your choices, you have greater chances of finding something that fits.
Or better yet, buy something else than jeans. Really, there are many other fabrics which cost about the same, are as comfortable (if not more), for example: Corduroy (some of them are the most comfortable piece of clothing i have), Outdoor-cargo-type pants (the ones you'll find at your local outdoor shop), velvet (no really, very comfy, looks good if you have long legs, and as an added bonus, chicks love petting velvet stuff [again, i'm not kidding, and no i'm not gay thanks for asking]), other synthetic fabrics which are extensible, etc...
Really, I can't see why people seem to think that jeans is the only non-business-like type of pants available out there. Any of the above can look more stylish than jean.
Anyways, just my 2c

And 23 comments just in the last 5 days. I'm guessing that you spend on average at least 1h per day here on /.
That's 7h a week, which is more than enough to look for a job. Perhaps you need to revise your priorities.
Will be able to download the latest crappy music and get sued for it like the rest of the world.
Leaving your garage door open will lend you 7 years in jail.

What do you get if you combine the words "Duct" and "Tape"? Dupe!
Ouch! Who would've thought that people wouldn't get out of the way when i close my eyes while walking...
and a whole bunch of other countries couldn't care less about this law.

I had the same exact email just a few days ago and had the same reaction. Great marketing job indeed, Amazon...
