Ha those beautiful days. On my side she never actually got the touch and just quit it, and retouch a game only when she played Myst.

On a another more serious note, you are right. while other console have all use the online mode for their multiplayer mode, it just shutdown gamer more and more in their room. On the other side, Nintendo just stayed in the side-by-side multiplayer mode. That just allow us to keep in touch with REAL human relationship.

I hope this huge risk will not be as popular as their other new tech they tried some years ago with the Virtual Boy. At this time they have little competition and could afford to loose royally with one consol, but if the revolution doesn't established itself when it goes out, we can count Nintendo as the same league as Sega.

Yah you're right the only reason those game series stayed was because they offered something new.

FF have juste a completly new story, completly new char, completly new world, slight to big change in the gameplay, slight to big change in the character rising system and a slight to big change in the graphics just to had a little more but nothing of importance. That is what kept FF on top.

Metroid have run too by changing completly the game style from a side-scroller 2D game to a FPS and kept the gameplay interesting.

Zelda just turn their sequel to revolution(not the console but the true meaning) by trying new concept even on NES with Zelda2. adventure to side-scroller/RPG to adventure to 3D adventure to cartoon shading to ?.

Some computer game to have must try sequel. None here can complain for any Blizzard sequence. difference between WC I, WC II and WC III is huge and improved the game play on all aspect. SC and SC:ghost is completly different but in the same world. ect.

All these, as you can see, are from long runing compagnies that have made their place in the gaming industries and that can afford to take the risk of making a non-popular game. The real problem goes on Sport/racing games that not only have a bunch of too much similar sequence but also a bunch of clone game. Also new name in the gaming industries. If their first game works they will want to make a sequel having their names made, but they fear to take any chance for new concept and will make the sequence of a good FPS with only better graphics and new/modified wpn.

yah exactly, to play the brand new Mario party XXXIII or the Zelda: Pick the master sword and kill ganon or maybe Pokemon LCD, that you will need the DS connection Cable(not coming with neither the game nor the the console) to unlock the coolest thing with your pokemon RGB. And don't forget the new Mario play to bridge.

I understand that nintendo want to innovate, but they are still planing sequel to overuse game title. Not counting their highly marketing behaviour with all the accessory going out usefull to only some game, but still mandatory for those game(All remember the Multiplayer option of FF:CC and Zelda:Four sword).

So I'll just wait until all are out, check for the game to come and check if there is enough interesting me to buy.

I'm also still skeptical about the revolutionnary controler of the Revolution. If it work well, and the game are well adapt to it it could be great.

Damn in the .NET framwork, there is class that represent the list of task running on the comp. You can make a program that just run through the different task and KILL them. o_0. That, that is a considerable flaw, cause as you all know some running task that you kill will just begin the reboot sequence for fatal error and reboot your comp. Now just imagine you put something like that run at window's start.

By the way, if you want more information than the task manager already gives try to check spybot search & destroy. In the advance mode, in Tools, process list. you see in it at least the fullpath of the process and also it will point out the parent process or child. There is also a screen to change the startup.

M$ sure get angry at any reproach made to them and I can understand. With there VERY GOOD reputation, it seems that everyone is making is job to help M$ to get there bug fixed. What I meen is that every one who find a bug in a M$ software will not just point out the bug as a suggestion, but more as a new way there repution lower than it is already. It would be like everyone around you trying to figure out everything you do wrong only to make fun of you. I'm sure you would be angry about it.

as for the time it take for microsoft to patch, just take into consideration that any google software are newly programmed, and surely better structured than M$ older and higly patched work. It is also less patched.

On the other hand M$ software have most of their software with old structure Patch after patch. Even the new version are surely made from the inner structure of the previous one. The code is so much messed and mixed that it becomes hard to find the bug, and patch it.

I'm not trying to excuse M$ for their bad services but I'm just trying to point out why M$ and google just act differently.

Best way to try something new, is to rent it. It usually give you a good opportunity to play the game for a fair price. After you just choose to buy it or not. Like this you not only know if you like the game, but also if it is worth to spend more than a week on it. Certain game have a short gameplay and are only good to rent. You can also make your own idea other than the one from th review already out. Sometime a popular and well rated game isn't always something you'll like. For myself GTA wasn't really entertaining for myself altough it was popular and very well rated.

At least the Revolution is attempting something--you know--revolutionary (pun intended).

The only real problem with Nintendo, is that since the venue of console competition with the PS vs N64 Nintendo just seem to have drop the fight and gone to a public that is less touched by the other console, the little kids. Now again they flee the fight to go on a ground touch by no one. But again they'll still have a console targeted a kids. They should try to regain the older gamer and try to reconquer the gaming empire, because as I can see they are the only one that do revolutionize the gaming industry, instead of sticking in old ways and just upgrade graphic and processor. So if only Nintendo can go search the older gamer they will return to the fight and maybe push the other to try something revolutionary.

I'm not really asking for the classic menu with the drop-down, not for now tough, didn't get to try the new system, so cannot complain about the new menu system. What I'm sure that I can complain is how big the icons are. They did the same thing with MSN, but at least they let you change the icon size. When I'm writing I want to see as much of the sheet and the text I'm writing as I can. With big menu like this you just cut at least a quarter of the page viewed. I just hope you can get the icons smaller like the old 16x16 icon. I also can't stand the puffy and round tendency.
