  1. have I misread something on Why Can't Microsoft Just Patch Everything? · · Score: 2, Insightful

If smaller software companies can patch all of their bugs serious or minor, ZDNet's George Ou asks, why can't Microsoft -- with its massive army of programmers and massive budget -- patch all of its vulnerabilities?

    Ok have I missread something?

Small companies = 1 or 2 programs with each a couple of thousands lines of codes. Usually new program, so fresh and structured code.

Microsoft = dozens of programs, with each a couple of millions lines of codes. Usually based on ancient versions returning to the age of C when code was a little less structured than now and imprissivly patch over and over again.

This said, you also count that some microsoft software are dealing with complex coding like memory managing, thread managing, hell all the computer managing.

Also add that the goal of every microsoft user is exactly to find all flaws in microsoft and just point at them and says"HAHA! There is a bug there mr. MS." So it's not surprising that microsoft software have to deal with a lot of bugs.

I think that pretty much make a answer to why Microsoft is like this.

And if you are not sure about if it's too violent for your child, just check the Back of the cover, that usually have a couple of screenshot and read the summary of the game. Just stop relying on everyone else and just think by yourself.

It would like a UO RP shard. What need to be made is a real MMORPG and stop making MMO:hack&slash, saying it is RP cause you can levelup and say yes or no to take a quest when you clearly know that if you don't take it you are missign experience.

What MMO are missing today is true or nearly true Role play, where you can, like this, decide that your character will be a cook, or a musician, not a LV60 Almighty Wizard of the Apocalypse. You just have to create a civilised environement instead of a military only environement.

XML comment give useful information in the popup and the object browser that can help the user to understand what exactly do the following class or function.

sure a class like class says a lot, but if when you check it it says Implemented the = and &= opperator to the stringbuilder class then you know what new.

In a function you can comment each parameter to know exactly what they do and what to send there.

Comment is no more just for those modifying your code later when you are gone, but also for the Dll user. to help them use your class.

Am I the only one that doesn't understand why everyone is praising the "magnifisciant" XBOX 360 over the other next-gen. As I see it XBox if the only one that doesn't offer me something exceptionnal that would make me buy it.

You have the three folowing, Xbox 360, ps3 and Revolution.

For Ps3 tough it is another cheap computer exclusivly made for game, the Ps2 has offer me an impressive array of different game genre. And many of these genre had a couple of great game. Not to mention that not many of these game were port to comp. I still wait for the same thing from Ps3.

Nintendo current and even next console, on his side is anything but a computer. GC had no online. 4 controler, a lot of coop multiplayer game. It is the perfect console for group entertainement. It also had a lot of exclusive title. Many of relaxing and funny game like mario party and other. So Nintendo was best to socialise physically while playing video game. And I'm still seeing the same public for the Revolution.

On his side, Xbox is only a cheaper computer. It doesn't even drag with a small array of different genre game, and a small array of game I can't already play on my computer. Even their main title Halo is playable on Computer. Xbox was missing variety and as the Xbox 360 just lunch it still miss any variety.

So, If there is one console to fall I can see only the Xboxes serie to do so. Not that I'm expecting this to come for this generation. I do not fear for Playstation and Nintendo for any danger.

What nintendo had and still keeps was the fact that it wasn't just a cheap computer enchanced for game. It was a pure home console. It was made for side-by-side multiplayer, and had unique game made for these. It didn't needed an online connection, only 4 control to have the funniest week-end with friend. A night playing at different Mario Party, Mario sports or others is awsome and very entertaining, and it let you socialise a little more than an online game.

All you need to enjoy this console is 4 controler, a couple of multiplayer game and a couple of friend to fully enjoy the power of the GC. For more fun, don't sleep during 48Hours before playing to Mario party, Power Tenis or wathever, and you've got the best way to laugh and enjoy a cool gaming party with some friend.

If you are alone, just take a few of the Single player game, Metroid Prime1-2, Fire emblem and many more. Those may not be the "best" single player game of all time, but many are class A game and deserved to be played.

This is the array of game type of Nintendo that still made them popular and cheerish for many gamer.
