    Jeri Ellsworth is a MUCH better example of a sexy female scientist. She invented the Commodore 64 emulator within a joystick, a popular toy that sold well on QVC and at Walmart.

    Which makes her an engineer, not a scientist.

    I am not that familiar with American politics but the skeptic in me says that the Republican party tolerates Ron Paul only because they believe he has no chance in hell.

    The U.S. doesn't respect all U.N. resolutions, only the ones we like at a particular moment in time.

    The U.S. also doesn't respect WTO resolutions unless they go in their favor.
    Come to think of it, they don't respect any international body.

    They do respect force though, so it may pay off to be a Chinese national.

    So in a loser pays system, what happens if you're on the wrong end of a lawsuit from one of those $500/hr lawyer teams and you can only pony up for a $150/hour lawyer and you lose?

    The judge decides the amount you're liable for according to the individual circumstances of the case and the parties involved.

    Correct. But that doesn't matter. They can still issue a warrant to question him. Their legal system, and it's up to the UK if what they want to agree to extradite for it. Since that's in the treaties they have there's not a lot of room for manouvre here.

    Is it spelled out in the extradition treaty that people not charged with a crime (therefore: not accused) are to be extradited?
    I would be very much surprised if that's the case so, regrettably, I must go [citation needed] on you.

    So much for the bad guys using it. The good guys can use it to bypass any DRM scheme. A little magic box plugs in, and watches memory as the decrypted file appears and is rendered. All that HDCP stuff is irrelevant, bypassed. Or, on the fly, keys are sniffed out.

    If that was so easy, the "good guys" would have already have "regular" PCIe cards that can "bypass any DRM scheme", including "all that HDCP stuff".
    Where can I get one?

    The majority Conservatives already dropped all of these provisions from C-11 as they're highly unpopular. Recent polls are now in the news showing that the New Democrats are tied with them, and may even be slightly leading. I really doubt they will back this and risk the next election over it.

    Please cite your sources.

    All the sources that I can find claim that C-11 is completely unchanged from its first introduction as Harper's Conservatives blocked *all* of the proposed amendments.

    No, he doesn't.

    He merely observes that if those eyes were "designed", then the designer did a shoddy job.
    Especially since the eyes of the cephalopodes were already available for reference (according to both the evolutionary timeline estimates and the Genesis creation story).

    You, on the other hand, tried to change the topic, re-frame the argument, introduce strawmen and conduct ad-hominem attacks.

    Design patterns served the purpose of giving names to the things that as you said, most coders already came up with. When I say strategy, or observer, or behavior, or singleton .. everyone knows what the hell I'm talking about.

    When I was young(er), we had just one name for almost all of the design patterns: "another level of indirection".
