Protip: Find the software you want, then turn to your package manager.
If you have to compile stuff by hand and don't want to, you are not running a suitible distro.
Except that's a flawed analogy. It's more like if you set up a lounge for legal drinking, and a lot of people brought drugs to the place. Does that mean it should be shut down?
It could still happen. I'm not saying it definitely will, I'm not saying it'll happen soon if it does, but the fact is that it is a capable OS, that is progressing with good speed, and does seem to be gaining more support over time. All it takes is the right backers to think that Linux is a worthwile endeavour and a lot could change.
It may be wishful thinking in part, that doesn't mean it's impossible.
They'd be certifiably insane not to.
In business, you look at any possible threats. Be it near or far. Like it or not, Linux is a viable threat to Microsoft, one of these distros could some day start to drag users away, and Microsoft would be fools not to keep any eye on them.
Also, I don't know what experience you had with Linux, but it's very different to mine. I have less trouble setting up and running Linux distros than I do with Windows.
Increase capacity. Let's face it, this usage is only going to increase in the future. You can try limiting it now, but that is a short-term solution. Increase capacity and reap the benefits later.
Total crap, It's easy enough to torrent 3 albums illegally, only using small amounts of bandwidth. It's also possible to transfer huge amounts of completely legal data.
It pisses me off that ISPs are trying to say that all heavy users are the same as pirates. The whole 'it's the user's fault' is rediculous. The fact they can't take the data through the network isn't a sign the users are using too much, it's a sign they need to upgrade their network. Instead, they are passing the buck to the user, and then blaming it on the 'dirty pirates'.
Next they'll just start putting people in prison for copyright infringment if you use more than XGB bandwidth a month (subject to change without notice).
And if they had never run the test, the results would have been the same. Please, don't push blame onto others, we have enough of that into modern society. There is plenty of education forced down your throat at every turn about HIV/AIDS, if you don't know about it, it is your fault.
Actually, you can get HIV from any contact with blood to yours, you don't have to do drugs or be a slut to get it. As to a vaccine being a mild form of the disease, now-a-days it's now a dead form. Your body can still develop an immune responce due to dead viral cells, and this is what is done. Of course, IANAScientist/Doctor, so this is what what I have been told.
The BBC's content is our content. Give it to us unmolested please.
It's not like people are not going to let the BBC show their series unless there is DRM there.
Seems like a bad idea on the basis they will eventually corrode inside you, and if you ever need an MRI you'll need to have them out before you can have it.
Right, because comparing an upgrade that requires the downloading of all of the software, which includes all non-base-OS software, before installing it, to an upgrade off CD with only base-OS software is exactly the same thing.
Pretty sure Ghost In The Shell had something similar. 'The Japanese Miracle'. Slightly different in that it's micromachines as opposed to bacteria, but what I thought of.
These children will end up only having any knowledge in their parent's areas of interests, having a very poor range of knowledge, and no qualifications that will be worth anything when job seeking. Good plan.

In the UK, we get the fun of both caps, and throttling & port blocking.
Fortunately, I'm with ADSL24, who offer a service with a specified cap, but then unlimeted during off-peak times, and don't throttle at all, ever. They also offer good monitoring stuff so you can tell how close you are to that cap. If you are lucky enough to be within an LLU, then you can get true unlimeted from them.

Looks interesting => We don't give a shit.
Looks bad => Oh shit, we are screwed.

I was the same way until I got my G1. Now I get notified with that, so gmail is easier to use as I simply don't need anything more.
Dvorak gets paid loads by Martini. Now you know why.

And also requires effort and skill to play.

This (Testify) was what I was linking to, the text was a quote from the parent.
No native Linux client?

No.
That's what IM is for.

I don't know what service you were using, but it sucked.
So, someone sets up a distributed computing project that decrypts them, and broadcasts working results online, everyone grabs them and watches TV.
Tell that to all of my friends that have phones that can't send emails.
