But they are making headway.
In feisty, there is a new restricted drivers manager, which allows easy installation of the proper nvidia/ati drivers - without hassle - and it automatically prompts you to install.
There is also much better device support, and as Linux gets more popular, maybe the manufacturers will start to make proper drivers too.
Wine is also making headway. With the latest version of wine, EVE online works flawlessly.
I disagree. I have gotten someone who only had a windows 3.1 machine (AKA: No experience at all) to run Ubuntu on a new PC, they now love it so much, the only use windows for a few games.
I have also gotten quite a few freinds to try it out, most of whom know about as much as to browse the net, do normal things, etc... And they can run Ubuntu fine.
You don't have to be smart to run Linux, you just have to have someone there to help you through the hard bits while setting up.
Everyone I know who uses Linux (not just the geeks) agree it is better than windows, and not just that, but easier.
On a side note, when selling Linux, the Package Manager is a really good point to talk about.
I was so annoyed when I heard COD3 had no multiplayer on the Wii! The single player is so short, you need it to be there. It's what made the 360 version so great.
Still, best game at the moment is Rainbow 6 Vegas - for me.
a) I don't like reading off a screen as much as off paper.
b) There is a thing about turning the page, the smell of a book - for me - is something important.
Problem is, people just attach a reader to the top, that looks like part of the machine, a little camera in that (ironically in the guard that's meant to block the view) and they have everything they need. I've seen it done on ATMS, why not on these?
But seriously, It's coffee, it's damn hot. You should be able to work out it'll hurt you if you chuck it on yourself. As for the Wii-motes, same thing applies. If you throw it, you are a dumbass, The strap is there if you are holding it and drop it, not so you can throw it.
OK, First things first, I hate MS products. Best MS product I have is an MS keyboard and mouse. I run linux.
But
This is ludercrous (and no, I can't spell that), since what they are saying is MS is not allowed to make thier software secure.
That's like saying to car manufacurers 'OK, you can make cars, but no making saftey equipment, that'll deprive the NHS (or Medical Insurance companies, whatever) of thier work!'.
After switching to Linux, Ubuntu to be exact, I have booted into windows about 3 times. Once to get some settings I needed, once to convert some video (I later found I program to do what I needed under Linux, and once by accident.
Frankly, I don't care. I won't buy Vista, because it has nothing I want. Linux does the job, doesn't cost loads, and is better in so many ways. I'm no linux fanboy, but I will use the overall best thing for me, and that in Linux. I'm not going to ask people to Boycott it. I'm just going to use what I find best, and encourage others to do the same, aswell as telling them all the options.

The round ones are still quite thick, and have to spread out at the end, and also half as flexible, and more damage-prone.
Actually, the ones that came free with my Asus P5B Deluxe are angled.
Actually, the ipods are the problem, they need software, the cheap ones you just dump the MP3s on like a memory card.
Note: PCI-Express isn't the same as PCIx. Either you missed PCI-E out or got it wrong.

In the UK, we can't buy some American stuff - for example - I can't get Scrubs for my Ipod - off to the torrent sites then...

This doesn't work with any country other than america. In Britain they are known as Mobiles, Germany as Handys, etc...
Anyone noticed that the schools also use Serif software for everything else?
English Units? Imperial. The English use Metric now, in case you hadn't realised.

What annoys me is where people cannot search at all, you say 'Oh, check out Automatix' and they say 'URL?'. How hard is it to google the thing?
I think it's great.
Win. Darwin 1 - 0 Laywers

Or, alternativly, we could just call anyone who uses the idiotic word a fool, and move on.
He stores it as separate bitmap frames, Duh!
Yeah, except it is being wroked out, replaced with 'ss' now-a-days.
In other news, school children will be bubble wrapped as of next year.
The only winning move is to play an idiot.

What a load of rubbish.
