I read once on Gamespot that Nintendo was considering either a voodoo or powerVR based console. Voodoo was bcked by Nintendo America, and powerVR was backed by Nintendo Japan. The N64 was powerVR based, and subsequently did not benifit from the heavy development that the voodoo got.
I wonder how much say Nintendo America has in the hardware for the Revolution (Wii) because of that.
It won't take long to appear on ~x86, and about 2 months for x86. It seems it will be worth a little wait. I'll finially be able to edit the main menu. Its only taken 5 release cycles or so.
Granted, its not REAL TIME. Then again, the game in this post doesn't exactly sound like its real time does it? Not that I could see, because the poor server has probably burst into flames.
Actually, now that I think about it, maybe its the same developer. Can someone confirm/deny?
If my distribution message boards (multimedia section) are anything to go by. There seems to be lots of people with MythTV problems, so therefore there are lots of people using it.
I'm stretching a bit and assuming that many problems means many people using it, but its more than I thought there were.
Oh! Thats a bit better! Maybe I should move to Australia rather than the US. I was thinking about working in the US for a little while, but Austalia doens't seem that bad and it isn't that far away.
Anyway, my point is that I (on average) earn less than someone in the US, dollar for dollar, but videogames are twice as expensive.
In Australia/New Zealand, we regularly pay $100-120 for games, and the Xbox360 is around $700 ffs. I WISH I could pay $600 for a console. That would be a dream! Instead, I paid nearly $1000 for my ps2 on the first day, and that didn't include the extra controller/games/memory card etc.
I suspect the 'edgyness' of being a pirate is diluted by 'pirates of the carribean'. Can you provide a link to the expansion of the licence? Thats interesting.
My bad!

You drive me to dancing!
If I'm not mistaken, its a double wammy, as the yen is grossly undervalued.
I'd like to think that they have systems made by now. I'd like to see less speculating, and more espionage!
Its a simple solution.
Then they'll really learn how to use it.
I always wondered how hard it would be to build me a Mad Dog. Very hard, it would seem.
With 'simulations' and actual data from solar systems, does this mean we will be able to start solving the Drake equation?
We're partying like its 1989!

I must say, your punctuation is magnificent!
Nice way to convince me that Carmack IS still as relevant as he was 6 years ago.
There must be a fair number of slashdot's readers who don't even know who Carmak/Romero etc were.
Note to self, preview first!
Notice that New Zealand is roughly the same on the BMI as the US, yet our video games are twice the price!
1. I still get killed by the exchange rate and
2. The games all region locked, effectivly. I would have to buy the games from the UK, as they run PAL TV's as well.
I don't, however, like the fact that people will just put pirate copies of XP on it. Piracy hurts the tux!
Average income, USA = approximatly $35,648.55 (2004)
Average weekly pay, New Zealand $586 * 52 weeks = $30472 (2005)
Now that I see it worked out, thats sorry reading. Thats a pitiful average income. I wonder about Australia.
Australian average weekly income $816.80 * 52 = $42432 (2006)

You guys have it so cheap its not funny.
