Those guys fell from the fraud tree and hit every single branch on the way down:

    • Created their own, "serious sounding" journal for publication
    • Do not disclose the actual device they claim to have been running
    • Do not allow independent observation of the experiment
    • Experiment is an open system (making it SO easy to fake)
    • Making totally implausible claims that would be too much even if it DID work.

Not only have they yet to prove they did any kind of fusion, they also would not produce energy with the process they claim to do even if they were doing it (trans-iron fusion is not exothermic).

And the really stupid thing is that there will be tons of "sceptics" that have no fucking clue about science that will eat up their claims just because they are "anti-established science". Wankers.

You missed one branch: "...they plan to start shipping commercial devices within three months..." So, not only can they not explain how it works, but they're ready to cash in on it.

    1. Although Apple has done a good job of marketing the iPad, I'm not sure why so many people don't realize YOU CAN USE A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD WITH IT. I was using my wireless keyboard with it last night and it works great.
    2. You seem to think that the Zune, Edsel and MS Bob were also well designed products, but they weren't (well, OK, the Edsel was fine, but poorly marketed).

Everyone asks, "But what can it do?" I ask, "What can't it do?" Yes, it can't play Flash, but I only miss that for Hulu, and they are reportedly working on an HTML5 solution. And there are a few other things it can't do, but for most everything I do at home, it works great. And for the few things it can't do, I have two other computers at home. Don't buy an iPad if you don't want. Time will tell if it will fade away, but you can place me firmly in the "no it won't" camp...

"I'll cut out my kidney with a disposable drinking straw if anyone can reasonably argue this as ethical" Dramatic much? Go take a class on economics. Learn about supply and demand. If they can make more money by charging extra for the added content, they will. Otherwise they'll do something different. This is neither ethical not unethical. It's basic business. Oh, and the "something different" they'll do next time? Wait to release the already-finished content until after the initial release, so people like you will think the extra cost is somehow justified.

Couple the higher price and the fact that they offered nothing that AOL didn't have and it was enough to kill it. The only selling point was the built in Apple help area. As a beta tester for eWorld it was kind of eerie how it went from a thriving, fun community to a ghost town the day it went live (and we all had to start paying).

Due to the slower processor of the 3G, video recording is not quite "just fine", which is why Apple doesn't support it with their own apps. There are, however, several apps in the App Store that will let you record video. I use iCamcorder personally (until the new iPhone comes out).

"Problem with this, like with many other touch screen like devices, is that you don't get physical feedback when you're clicking or scrolling or doing anything."

With the Apple mouse, there is a physical click. The entire top surface moves down for a click. The capacitive surface is just used to determine if it was a right or left click.
