Everything they touch turns into some exclusive monopoly, this LP thing being just another example, others being:- itunes/ipod exclusivity, AT&T / iphone exclusivity, buying Logic Audio / Final Cut and killing the pc versions, offering specialized un~upgradable hardware (imac) whilst offering no entry level hardware, disabling mac / pc functionality in their os, only allowing their os on their machines..., configuring quicktime to work better with macs (mac gamma) etc etc
Dude. Has the writer of this article never played left 4 dead ? I don't think there has been a game since Pacman with such re~playability. The A.I. director manages the ebb and flow of the game, increasing and decreasing the difficulty depending on the players assembled and their progress.
Until there is a software library when your average non corporate individual can learn these programs for nothing people will pirate.
Remember, your not stealing, your sharing, you don't take anything from anybody.

Mix that together with all the evangelical proselytizing in the military and you have a very good case for arguing the powerful ideologies at work in games and film (Michael Bay = Military advert, he gets whatever military resources he wants for free).

But then, when you consider that they also have a hatred of other Englishmen wearing different colored football shirts, it starts to become clearer. The UK is AND ISLAND FOR GOD'S SAKE. It is extremely difficult to get into the UK, let alone exist there. 1 console game = 10 cell phone games in profit. So it really does not matter that there are more people playing iphone games. Also most iphone games are impulse purchases that never get played again, so I think that market will relax once the novelty has worn off (much like the ring tone market)
