I think that we're actually looking at two different audiences here. The first is the people who would download a low res version to watch on their commute to work. These are the people who where not able to watch it when it aired on ABC. So the local stations aren't really losing any viewers. The show is getting viewers it would not otherwise have.
There's no sense in trying to make your program 0.3% faster when you could be finding a way to make it 20% faster instead
The orginal question was based on arrays vs pointers. I don't think he was concerned with speeding up his program. He was just asking if using arrays would be as fast as using pointers. If so, he was going to use the easier one.
And even if that wasn't his question, pointers and arrays are widely used. If he (in future development) uses the fastest one then his code will run.3% faster in several places, not just the one.
They're not a "programming magazine", but every month they do have programming related columns. It's a UK magazine, but it's available in the US at places like Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. http://www.pcplus.co.uk/

Don't forget that games whose source have been released (like Quake) can also be ported too. These people wrote a commerical game for the Dreamcast using homebrew tools. (See Question #10 of their faq for more details.)
How about this: Hollywood can release movies on Blu-ray. The computer industry can use HD DVD for its data format. Then they can't make us pay those stupid taxes on blank media by claiming that we're pirating their stuff.
Hmmm....blog....a place where someone (sometimes several people) make entries about subjects that interest them.....and people usually make comments about the entries....I just realized something....Slashdot is a blog!!!
Maybe this is just another marketing ploy for the Disney movie "Chicken Little".

I would gladly pay $45 a month for a high speed connection if they WOULD JUST MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO ME!
Want the price to go down? The company needs more customers. How does the company get more customers? Make it available to more people!

"estimated to generate a 20 percent operating margin which eBay hopes to help offset the recently reported high purchase price of Skype."
Let me see if I understand this. They buy Skype. Then, to help pay for it, they buy something else?
Try techpodcasts.com. They have some programming related stuff, but I haven't had time to check into it so I'm not sure of the quailty.
Maybe this was suppose to be the dupe and the orginal post didn't get put up for some reason.
Well. This would be one agruement against region-coding. There's one less region to try to keep seperate.
You might also want to consider some audio magazines (ie podcasts). ITconverstions is a good place to start.
Well, let's just see which one Apple sues and then we'll know who's right!

often about something you don't care about
But that's the point. You ignore those, I read the ones that talk about things you are interested in.
You crazy kids.
I remember back when 64KB was A LOT of memory.
I linked to version 7 because version 8 isn't finished yet.
..a more likey outcome is that patents and DRM will lead to a digital dark age.
By thumb drive I mean has the usb connector built on. Some others have this, but some you have to use a cable.
