I don't know but I know for sure that every freaking website and magazine wrote up stuff when George published that they had only 71 tasks on list left to do.
Last reported number was only 24 things are left to do. And that was on April 13th!!!
I'm pretty sure that Duke Nukem Forever has gone to GOLD!!!:)
And during the next few days I think we will hear more about the matter. But I am not going to buy this story until actual press release is sent out.
We should make a bet here. You will offer me free drinks, free women and free meals during the next weekend if I am correct.
If I'm wrong... well... I can always buy two bottles of Finnish Koskenkorva Viina or some cheap Russian Vodka if you like and then we can both have a blast off party for 3DRealms while sitting on cold bench at park and crying together...
Note that website has not been closed. Forums and estore are both active and working. Also at least my web browser tells me that there is too much traffic in 3drealms.com and that's why it cannot access it.
And I agree with dbcad7. Something fishy is going on. Especially with game which had only 24 tasks/objectives left to do last week before being 100% complete and ready to go to gold.
1. Take-Two which has lots of money(tm) owns 3DRealms. Take-two did give lots of money to 3DRealms until the contract which made it that 3DRealms will make the game by themselfs and Take-Two will only publish that game after that. And they are not allowed to say anything about situation in 3DRealms. Why is that so?
2. DNF is at least 95% done atm. Why would they be showing stuff off if it wouldn't be? Besides Bloussard in his blog mentioned that the check list of undone/buggy stuff for DNF has/had only 24 objectives left. When bug smashing started it had literally thousands of objectives. http://twitter.com/georgeb3dr/status/1513503306
3. 3DRealms has survived this long without much help from anyone. Why now so suddenly would they be closing? Website closed? I think they are more likely to update it entirely. After all they have had it same at least 10 years.
4. News like "3drealms closed" is just the news we all probably have been waiting for these long years... Think about it. What would be the best way to shout out that Duke Nukem Forever has gone to gold? Of course it would be to give press release of 3DRealms shutting down!!!
I'd say that this is just a marketing trick and odd but kind of funny way to shout out that DNF has gone to gold!
Nice to see that you understood my point. But your counter argument is so weak that I don't even have to write counter for that.
Macs are PCs, no matter what Apple or their user base might say. It's just some sort inner defence mechanism of theirs for denying the truth.
Besides his comment is understood like this: "I want to have a personal computer which runs games and looks great, running games is the only reason I am still using this ugly personal computer..." And I say what? in this point.
Besides most Slashdotters are asses so I didn't expect you to be any different.:)
PC != Windows Mac = PC XPS = PC Pavilion = PC E-series = PC N-series = PC etc..
Let me add that Mobile Phones are PCs also. Let's not forget about them since they are second most important if not the most important PC devices in the world.
Apple built computers are Personal Computers aka. PCs. So what if they are called Macs? Dell has XPS machines. Wouldn't it look kind of funny if I'd write that "I have XPS and PC"? Apple ships their computers with just another operating than Microsoft Windows. What makes it special enought to be called PC if computer has Windows? Playstation 3 is a PC, at least when it has Gnu/Linux installed. Those kind of PCs are called HTPCs usually.
And why are Gnu/Linux software called just Linux software and Mac OS software called Mac software but why the hell is Windows Software called PC Software? It's correct to some level but PC Software means everything from Mac, Linux to Windows, Solaris and so on even to DOS and OS/2 software.
PC is not a platform, Windows is a platform, Gnu/Linux is a platform, Mac OS X is a platform, and all these operating systems run on a same computer type which was called IBM-PC, or like now, PC for short. 8 years since they stopped calling Windows software as windows software things have really really really gone to the dark hole.
Besides definition of a PC is following: A personal computer (PC) is any computer whose original sales price, size, and capabilities make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end user, with no intervening computer operator.
I'd add also that it's a type of a computer which manages your personal information flow. But I guess wikipedia's definition holds it inside the context.:)
You know. I'd give my left arm (unable to play Quake after that) if Gnome would start using Qt since it would lead to unification of Linux Desktop and Gnome being a lot more improved.
Also lot more Linux applications would pop up and companies would only develop using Qt which would in turn lead to many cross platform applications. We all know the benefits of the one single UI widget kit.
But in the end, it would just make starting up Gnome project in past just worthless action. But since it's not really a worth a thing I wouldn't consider it a loss. Having Gnome based on Qt is a lot better thing than having Gnome based on Mono aka..Net. Althought the two are not really comparable.:P
Nokia should also step up and make some fancy action on licensing of Qt to make move easier if it is ever going to happen. Gnome will lose it's cause but so what? It's almost not worth a thing since it's so badly designed. Who really needs 15 different sets of tools when you can have them all in one package? Who does need badly writen subsystems and old C in anyway? C++ is the way to go in future. No matter what happens. And those who stick with the C too much don't want to face the reality.
For name of justice I have to say that Daikana was not so bad game after all. First episode sucked totally but after getting into second episode it was freaking good game with lots of variety and great story. Of course it had lots of bugs and it was seriously late. But if you don't care graphics and patch it it's great.:)
And it has 4 games in one. All four episodes feature new weapons, enemies, textures, enviroment, sounds, music etc..
Daikana has faults I don't bring up since everybody seems to be aware of em' anyway. But it also has good points. The game was killed by it's hype. Just like Quake I partitially.:)
I understand that if European PS3 had PS2 hardware backwards compability replaced with cheaper software emulation but I cannot understand that PS3 will cost _a lot more_ in Europe than what it costs in USA or Japan after that change. So why do we get actually less powerful console with bigger price tag? And please don't get started with that software emulation will do as good job we all know that it won't do as good job even after a two years of upgrades to the PS3 software.
Well, if Bunten was born as a male person, and lived as a male person, the fact that he changed his name and sex doesn't make him a woman. So he died as a male.

HHAHAHAHAHAAA What did I just told you guys! I always bet on Duke!
Always bet on Duke... ;)
Thou shall not cry because you will see thy holy light on a 3rd day from now on. Now go my son...

You've got it all wrong...
it's time to write code and chew bubble gum; and I'm all out of job...
That's easy to answer. They wouldn't be able to control it's spreading as much as they can with conventional methods.
And with Lightroom
I tried to say something funny but ended up being not so funny.
Now I'm more than happy I didn't buy MacBook Pro yet...

Is this for PC? (Windows, Gnu/Linux, OSX, Solaris, PS3, Xbox360, etc users..) or just for Windows?
:P
If it's just for Windows then why does it say PC?
You know that PC != Windows...

WTF is this shit? GTFO Sony and come up later with better list.

Dani Bunten (previously Dan Bunten) was working on an Internet version of the game until her death in 1998.
...until his death in 1998.
Son, you have an spelling mistake here. Let's fix it together:
