<quote>... It all gets compiled down to assembly anyway...</quote>
bzzt wrong answer, but thanks for playing! it gets compiled down to 'machine language' not assembly. even assembly gets compiled down to machine language. :P
If you need gigabit ethernet, then an alternative to the pi would be the BananaPi (http://www.bananapi.org/) - gives you some expandability with the SATA port too.
getting up every morning, getting dressed to walk the dog. rain or snow or heat, you have to do it. often twice a day.
little freedom to stay out late or travel.
things get chewed and broken at home.
there is the house-breaking time at the start.
pet doctor bills. pet food (stuff is heavy, too).
I like dogs but its definitely not a solution for everyone!
Aside from travel restrictions (not everyone at holiday spots are dog-friendly), a Poodle is my recommended way to go. Historically very good guard dogs and hunting dogs, loyal to a fault, hearing and eyesight some of the best of the race, and (as I've done) trained to use a designated indoor toilet space so no external 5AM excursions into the cold or wet necessary. They do need regular exercise (1-2 hours minimum per day), but easy to train at many tasks compared to other popular guard dog options (sans German Shepard and Australian sheep dogs - these are the top 3 smartest breeds). Get a King Poodle for homes with yards, or a Standard Poodle for apartments. Even a Dwarf or Toy will work well, plus have the benefit of being easier to travel with on holidays (fits under the seat in airplanes). Avoid the Circus haircut and you'll have a fierce looking, lovable, family-oriented guard dag!:)
For whatever his evils, Nixon would still be referred to as "President Nixon", or "Mr. President" when engaged in conversation or an interview, just out of courtesy. He'd probably be introduced as "former President Richard Nixon" when introduced to an audience (I've heard that done for Clinton).
That would mean that the ex-president of the US is still considered a president.
Well they are often still called that even if they do not retain the office. We hear former Presidents referred to as President Clinton and President Bush on the media all the time. From wikipedia: "In the U.S., the title is reserved for the current President and should not be used for former Presidents. Although when addressing a former president, it is proper to use the title as a courtesy title."
So apparently the secrets of the New World Order are not something the public should freely know. You have to pay to know "the truth" as he believes.
*FAIL*
an anonymous coward babbles: "You respect your betters, or you get tossed in a cage. That's the law. Ingrain that into your kid's brains before puberty hits, or they will wind up in a cage too."
The problem with that nonsense is at least two-fold. 1) People who think they are better do not actually deserve respect, regardless of age or wisdom, and 2) leaving out religious dogma, there is no law stating that you must respect "your betters".
Ingrain respect for property ownership and perhaps slap the teacher with a stupid stick for not following basic security principles.
"This female is a furry."
BZZT! Wrong answer, but thanks for playing! It's a cartoon/drawing of an anthropomorphic female from a comic/game/fantasy setting.
A 'furry' is an actual person that sympathizes with, relates to, or even wishes they were an animal in some form or fashion, often by wearing fursuits and/or engaging in some form of animal behavior, sexual or otherwise.
And for the record, we haven't 'evolved' to fuck human females, that's just how it's happened more often than not due to species dominance or relationships or that it was the 'only game in town'. Evolution hasn't stopped human males from fucking anything (like sheep or even other human males) that stands still long enough for him to try.
Sure it would. And if it didn't, the US isn't the world so international sales would make up for any US revenue loses because people *love* to poke fun and tragedy at politicians in other regimes.
It would probably be awesome and millions around the world would pay to see it! (nothing against Obama, mind you, but I'm always up for a good comedy that thrashes politics...Bush bashing would be funnier). I look forward to Franco and Rogan doing such a project. Or maybe Matthew Senreich, Seth Green, Mike Fasolo of Robot Chicken fame. Heck, I'd support a crowdfunding for it.
"...Ramamurthi's team engineered a system so that a business could collect a customer's debit card number and use it to make an instant payment directly into the customer's account —..."
That sounds very much like the system we've been using in Europe for at least 20 years - ever since I've been in Europe, so possibly longer - especially if the receiving account user is using the same bank. Transactions to other banks typically arrive within hours, if not the following business day *anywhere in the world*. So I'm not sure about the news-worthyness of the article, beyond telling us yet again that the US is still playing catch up with the world in yet another industry.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Since all extensions of the legal system that support the Police - lawyers, prosecutors, judges, etc. - are present and complicit, often the current procedure during a case where a Police officer was abusive or negligent or performing an illegal act (like destruction of property or giving false statement (my story versus your story and you no longer have a video so you have no evidence)), it appears fairly commonplace for the system to say "it's for the protection of all" and wave the banner of 'security' and tell the accuser "you should be so lucky, now don't you feel bad?" then sweep the problem away, maybe a token slap on the wrist, or possibly pressuring the accuser's lawyer to 'do the right thing'.
People have taken waaaaay too long to stop this behavior (which is at least as old as the country itself), so either do something about it, stop whining and having public discourse because the people causing the problem are just laughing at you, or shut up and go back to bleating like the sheep you are. Of course I include myself since I'm responding, but sheesh people - if you applied all this energy of arm-chair morality and standing up for your rights to the *actual* problem, there probably would not be a problem to begin with.
Could always go 'freelance' and/or self-employed - that seems to work for some guys with felonies that are having a hard time getting hired in IT. Do a bit of 'word-of-mouth' work that gets your skills noticed, build up clientele that make good recommendations, find a niche IT market that no-one else is doing, or find a niche IT market that the 'big boys' are doing and make friends with some of their smaller, local clients: "hi! i see you use company-x for your 'cleaning dust bunnies from Mainframes' service. I can offer the same serivce or better, and cheaper, and I'm local!"- sort of thing. attend parties, bars, meetups where you can listen in on the woes of the drunken: "dang outsourced IT guys gave me wrong hardware/software/support! wish i could find someone better!"-sort of thing.
I already have a 'use tax' when I 'use' the internet. I pay that 'tax' through my internet service provider or telecom. The internet has not been 'free' for a long time.
Nice that Denmark can be coal free in ten years... Yet they still can't treat people normally. I know of a young Pakistani woman that got a three year visa to stay in Denmark *without* a work contract, received a working citizen number (CPR number) that entitles her to free education and health care, yet I came along with my partner who got a job at the European Environment Agency, so being together I had to be registered at the Ministry of Foreign affairs instead of Imigration. I'm from the U.S., but I've been in Copenhagen for 7 years, have a good job *and* pay taxes, yet I don't have access to education or health care, and buying a telephone on a contract (or any other contract service like buying a TV on a payment plan) is like pulling teeth. I'm essentially a non-person just because my girlfriend works for an EU agency (her work gives her a 'diplomat' status, and i inherit that just because I live at the same address). And Denmark is the *only* country that does this nonsense currently. They are great with energy, but horrible with basic citizen rights and equality for people living in it's borders.
So... should they ban books, newspapers, and in-flight magazines, too? Because that's what many people were doing before the ban on gadgets was lifted, and I'm sure many people still do. Flight Attendants have not complained about that group of people since the dawn of commercial flight. How exactly is reading my news on a tablet any different from reading it on a newspaper? I'm still going to ignore stuff I've heard hundreds of times before.
"...I anticipate that the demonstration against TfL's handling of Uber will attract many many thousands of cabs and cause severe chaos, congestion and confusion across the metropolis...."
And I anticipate, nay suggest, that the city should alert the towing truck services. I'm sure they will love the income boost from removing taxi cabs that are blocking the roads.:-)

This is why the vulgar poster is listed as "Anonymous" - got no balls of his own. So the 'children' quip is fitting.

I'm sure they are aware of the Korean *people* as being good people. This is a frickin' comedy about it's bat-shit crazy leader and political system.
