Don't you people use receipts? That way, if people try to return stuff that they bought long ago, or at another store, you can tell them to bugger off if they don't produce a receipt.
Oh, okay. I thought they might actually have been specified.
I guess you should build your own spammers list, or use one of the public blacklists, although some of those presented problems in getting off of them later.
I used to read STart years ago, when I still used my Atari ST. It totally rocked back then! I'll be sure to check out that link later for some good ol' nostalgia:-)
As was already pointed out, only a very tiny fraction of the people know or care about the copy protection enough to boycott. It's not enough. The return-to-store-as-defective-merchandise strategy is much more effective IMHO.
But I'm just an outsider to all this business, since I don't buy music CDs or use Kazaa. I think better in silence.
I remember having seen a link on/. to a perfectly good debunking of the doubters' arguments, but I forgot where. It must've been either Space.com or Badastronomy.com or something.
But it doesn't surprise me that people ``choose to believe what they were programmed to believe''...
I'm sorry I don't have the time to find the article I'm referring to. Someone else might post it, or you could ask Google if you're interested enough.
All Slashdotters will probably rate a movie with CowboyNeal in it highly on IMDB. Just look how he does in the regular polls!:-)

That's what people said when the first steam trains started to pick up speed.
The fact is, speed doesn't kill, acceleration kills. Especially sudden deceleration. That's why the Apollo astronauts were able to reach the Moon in just a matter of days. By going very fast.
All I know is that my Logitech mouse is well over two years old and still live and kicking, which is contrary to my extended statistical data which suggests computer mice will only work for two years.

"Federal law prohibits changing the channel"
-- Blurb in Futurama intro sequence (different for each episode).
Didn't Bender say "I'm gonna drink till I reboot?"
Because the AC probably ran it through an automatic translator twice.
And those would be sponsored by... Coca Cola?
Charge them a printing fee. Everyone knows inkjet ink is expensive! :-P

You can always, if you decide /23 isn't finegrained enough for you, change the script to /27 or so.
I can see the new community forming on Slashdot -- "News for moviez d00dz, all the latest cam releases". :-P

What do you think MS has been up to these past couple of years? :-P
No, think different[tm]:
Software patents are still bad, but this is a big incentive for MS to get rid of the Software patents law!
That way, they're happy, and we're happy!
Well, isn't Microsoft, in its support of software patents, just asking for this?
They can get rid of the nasty patents if they manage to repeal software patents, which is a win for the Free Software community too!
I can live with that. I even like the irony taste :-)
This is one of the funniest post I've read here lately :-)

If you had a shop in a big city and you also sold not-entirely-legal stuff, would you advertise it on your webpage?

This story has the HP logo for an icon, while it's not about HP at all.
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
Just ask the "what if" machine! :-P
If only it were possible to identify those things reliably enough...
