All I know is I once heard a 4 y/o boy call his mother a cunt and I just about smacked him. She just giggled and told him to 'hush'. Not sure why it induces such vitriolic rage, it just does. I have known many who are very proud of their sailor speak. The tricky part is they have a hard time turning it off. I sat in with my boss for a someones job interview once and the interviewee actually dropped an f-bomb during the interview. We both just sat there in disbelief and he was like 'what's the big deal?'.
I guess it's like being naked. Nothing intrinsically wrong with it at all, just as long as you know when to wear pants.
As someone with Aspergers I have found that watching sitcoms is very helpful. Since nearly every character is being sarcastic most of the time, I learn through observing caricatures of reality.
...users can go online and make their own ratings of computer-generated avatar images of men and women
So start with adult population of Australia
Then, Subtract adults who have jobs, families, hobbies, and no time for silly things like this
From that, subtract the single college student who has any wisp of maturity or enlightement
From that, subtract old-timers with no interest in the Interwebz
So who's left? Alcoholics, the unemployable, angry loners...?
You called the 'police' and not 911? If you called 911 and they 'hung up on you' then someone should be losing their job. I had my car prowled and called 911. They gave a report number and said they would only send a cop if I has any idea who did it. I didn't so, whatever. The cops are not exactly staffed to go full-blown CSI for everyday crime. It would be nice, and the way things are going, maybe one day we will have a cop on every street...but they will be there to keep you in line.
So, how is this different? A teeny, tiny percentage of users even noticed this and no data was lost. It's foolish to think one's data center is immune to outages (power or otherwise) from time to time, no matter how well it's designed. But apparently this is the latest in several outages over the past few weeks which is kind of like amateur hour.
Well, I'm not really sure what you mean by 'down here'. But based on your use of 'like that' twice in the same sentence I will guess Southern US..Alabama maybe? Just do a search and find that it can and does happen in the Southern US.
Is that not the entire point of Wikipedia? If most people agree that something is a fact, then it is so. Period. Unless it offends some revert-or-ban "moderator's" delicate sensibilities...then it's shot down pretty quick.
Dude...you are gonna get a flamestorm for that comment. Last time I even hinted that NASA was a waste of money I was hate-modded on every comment I made in following posts for a month. Let the fanbois have their Star Wars fantasy.....
In a bigger city near my home there are no parking meters. Instead, each parking spot int he business district is a '30 minutes only' (or sometimes only 15 minutes) between 7AM and 6PM. At least with meters you can pay more money and get to stay longer. In these spots all you can do is leave before Officer Cool (seriously that's his name) writes you a ticket.
Me neither. But, again, determining if it's an accident is at the discretion of the police on the scene. If the shooter just says "oops! my bad", and the cops think something fishy (i.e. guy 'accidentally' fires his gun often or it seems more like teenagers screwing around), then they will charge them.
I don't think it's a double standard. In most municipalities, firing a gun within the city limits is a crime regardless of damage done (except in cases of defense). If it's outside the city limits the police have to decide if the shooter was being negligent (i.e. being drunk, juggling pistols) or if it was just an honest mistake. I think that, since it's far more difficult to accidentally fire a gun (e.e. safety, unloaded) than it is to accidentally get into a car accident, the standards of accident vs negligence should be higher for guns.
I think it's a matter of how many degrees of separation there are. The parent are certainly within their rights to sue if they wanted to, but I imagine the company would just settle out of court to shut them up. If it actually went to court I doubt the beer company would lose.

Told both you guys like a million times not to exaggerate.
Whoosh! And I got modded Troll, so that's at least a 2-hit combo.

Seriously, is that some kind of Mexican Facebook?

He said Gawker Media would be bankrupted by the lawsuit, not Apple.
Once more with feeling:

I have one of http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=901&lang=en>these. It's small, headless, 1TB (the one I have, they have up to 8TB), 1Gbit, and RAID 5 out of the box (but can configured however).
Not quite:
"It's very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything."
But full point for effort!

"Hey! Where my Facebooks site at? I can't find it and I searched all the Google on the Interweb!?" - Dick Cheney
"What do you know about ELE?"
Tautologic response FTW! Dubya, is that you?

No kidding. Somewhere on the network an engineer replaces CAT5 with fiber and POW!

Why not push for ISO certification for Flash? It worked with the PDF.

Indeed. But when it comes to an educated populace we get what we pay for ;)
