What are those funny disks in the PSP called and who supports them? I suppose if you own enough of the media then you can make markets by only releasing things on particular formats. The other thing with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD is that there is no guarantee that (whichever is)the best will win.
I think you will find it's more like making a model with one of those cake icing things. You do a layer (for the base) and then another layer on top of that, and then another layer... No liquids involved and each layer is supported by the one underneath.
From what i remember reading 3d modelling mags you can get quite complex shapes but you cant start a bit in mid air. You could model a mountain and probably a wineglass but not an umbrella with a curved handle.
Alright, a bit of a generalisation on my part but there are less programs out there for the Mac than for the PC. That is just stating a fact and lot is from independent vendors. These could be one person or they could be a small team. You can be pretty sure Adobe aren't gonna screw your machine but as a Mac user you have to trust these indepenent vendors.
Yes, some software you run directly from Applictions but some does use an installer. No idea why. If an installer asks for a password then you have to give it. You can't ask why, it's either that or nothing.
As a mac user user you normally end up downloading a load of shareware as there isn't much proper software out there. Certainly some of it require admin privileges to install and run. That dialog box asking for the admin password is NOT the same as a warning saying "do not install this". It just means you have to enter the password to continue. I can't remember, does Flip4Mac require a password to install? That is a codec and a good comparison.
Penny Arcade are fairly well known outside the web comic world. They do a lot of work for charity, there is talk of a spin off game and I have the Penny arcade theme on my 360 somewhere. They deserve a mention as they do a lot more than just comics.
If the future of the internet is watching crappy videos on youtube while reading half arsed articles on wikipedia and being spammed by "friends" on all the major social networks while Digg telly you what the "news" is, then I want out! Where is the quality? Web 1.0 was good enough for me.
How about a meta-social-network. You create an account and it registers with all the popular social networking sites. it then meta moderates your friends, invites, spam, etc into one central thingy. Then you can just focus on your friends whoever they are registered with.
How hard would it be to get the electoral roll data and plug it into a facebook like thing. Then you could have "Friends", "Relatives" and "Colleagues". You would have everyone in there and half the really important relationships ready made for you.
Where could you get the colleague data from? How do you know who works where?
absolutely no idea what is was about. There was some guy in armour and a hologram. There were several sorts of aliens but I could never work out which side some of them were on. Most of the synopsis out there read like manga stories, ie, a random selection of words arranged in roughly the same order as a story.
What was it with MasterChef and the hologram? Did someone kidnap her or something? What was the Flood again?
Yeah but that's not gonna stop people bitching on/. and Digg that OSX doesn't work proerly on their piece of hardware. Bad press is bad press. Of course we could always get the hardware manufactureres to release the drivers needed, they love relasing another set of drivers.
This is what i don't get. The concept of MP3s has been around for years, long before Apple decided to dip it's toe in the water. How much warning did the record companies needd that this was going to happen?
What should have happened was this... 1)Record companies seen this coming. 2)They should have developed a file format of their own and licensed it to Apple and M$ and Zen and iRiver. It might have DRM, it might not. As it would work with all the players out there it doesn't really matter. This is in contrast to Sony and.atrac which only works with their hardware and so never took off. 3)Come up with their own on-line music store. Well, duh! One between them all or one each. If you don't have to pay the cd store or Apple then its more money for you. 4)Profit.
As it is all they can do is stand there and watch as everyone elae has a slice of their pie. I am normally pro record company in/. discussions but in this case, hey, they deserve everything thats coming to them.
Also a good argument for CD over download. A small % of my collection has been purchased because of the cool packaging it came in. Spiritualized CD in a big medicine box. New Order in a wooden box. Anything from Mo Wax. Round, square, rectangular, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, bubble wrap and a few that i can't even bring myself to open.
I get OXM most months as I have a 360. I find that games mags like that are rather similar to pron. That is lots of pretty pictures and very little writing. You wait a month for it to come out and most of the news you got from IGN weeks ago. You read a couple of articles, the reviews that interest you and that's it. About a good afternoons reading if you are lucky.
I could start reading Edge instead but that goes too far in the opposite direction. Lots of in depth articles about games/platforms that I don't care about. Very little that I do care about.

and you should charge for support. No, wait a minute ...

What we need now is the story of "10 years of Goats.Cx".
Yes friend, it wouldn't be the same without you.
Big time!!!
Speaking as a one time Generation X'er I can't help but think of Generation G as a bit of a downgrade.

Not trolling, honest, just stating a fact.

Wow, was that 4 Blu-Ray DVD players or 4 players and a PS3?

Must ... fight urge to comment ... they would only mod me into oblivion.

That's the sort of scam he would pull.
So thats no atricles on politics or religion then?
