It would be cool if you enterd a search term like "russian cars" and then Google added the russian equivalent for the search terms in and (optionally) brought back some russian sites about cars. It usually has the option to translate the page/site.
I really like the idea of the Wii but could see the novelty wearing off very quickly. I got my 360 cos i wanted to play PC type games from the comfort of the sofa. I spend all day sat at a PC, don't want to do it at home as well. The 360 amd the Wii have very differing target markets. Not a bad thing, but a bit like comparing apples with aardvarks.
On the other hane one of the pubs near me has Wii games nights. The thought of beer and hand held controllers sounds mighty dangerous to me.
Isn't that the whole point of start ups? Have an idea, get it working and then sell it to someone that can do something with it. at least that way you are guaranteed some money. Otherwise its "Have an idea, get it working and then watch as everyone copies it".
Dunno if i would ever use it. However if you were rolling out Googles web apps in an office enviroment then it might make life easier for the users. More of a desktop paradigm then a bunch of URLs.
And he should know considering how he deliberately and ironicly "quoted" everything from classical music to 60's pop in his music. I sometimes wonder what he would make of the state of the world today. Greatly missed.
goes like this. No one knows what happens to matter when it enters a black hole, only that it can't get out again. Secondly, no one knows where the matter for the big bang came from, i mean a whole universe out of nothing.
Couldn't a black hole be a hole in our universe that matter drains out of? Then that matter passes into another dimension to make up someone elses universe. So black holes and big bangs are just two sides of the same hole. Once enough matter (and black holes) have come through, the expansion stops and thanks to the black holes this new universe starts flowing away. Think lava lamp but without bits drifting off.
In his book "The Real Frank Zappa" released in 1989 Zappa explains his plan for the future of music distribution. He says that consumers arn't that interested in CDs or vinyl and explains how you could use the cable tv or telephone system to digitally transmit music (and cover art, etc) into peoples homes on a subscription basis. This was back in 1989, long before your interweb thing took off.
Surely if I live in the UK and buy something from Amazon.Fr then its up to Amazon to make sure that I pay any import/export duty and any relevant taxes that may be due. I can't just say that "I am on the internet" and therefore your laws don't apply to me. The owner of the site in question wanted to keep within the bounds of the law and probably just didn't have the resources to rewrite the site to accomodate this.
This is just another reason why episodic/indie gaming will take off in the future. Companies can't afford to tie up their dev teams for years at a time as a) no return b) technology changes so fast c) loss of momentum.
I suspect b is the main cause of the problems at the moment and why consoles are so popular with game companies. Once you have a stable platform you can develop against for a couple of years then turn around gets quicker and the technology gets pushed. As it is yo have to start again from scratch every 12/18 months.
The search company has done a lot of work customizing MySQL to meet its special needs, which include better database replication, and tools to monitor a high volume of database instances
Last time i saw the graphics looked a bit "last gen" and the gameplay looked a bit repetative. You just go around interacting other cells/animals/cities/planets. I know its by Will Wright and it will pwn 90% of the PC gamers out there, but...
that makes all the more jobs for us, correct? Everyone wants a DVD player but they don't have to learn how to build one. Anyway its probably just the ones after a quick VC sponsored buck that have dropped out.

on NetToast. My favourite.
How does Google handle all the various extended character sets out there? Can you search in Cyrillic, Chinese or even French?
Does that also include all the bits of Ben Stiller in a Ben Stiller movie? I sincerely hope so.
Top ten is (pretty much) made up of four franchises.

then can we use it with politicians as well?

Impossible to prove but I like its symmetry.

A couple of them even.
It can only dream though.
Office equiptment? Must be a hell of a lot.
Thanks for the link. I caught a couple of them in the UK on kids/school tv and really found them interesting. Enough to go out and get his book.
However, I still find the best description of the universe to be the 3D bit form one of the Simpsons halloween specials.
Couldn't they just put one at the top of the space elevator?
Try this.

makes me think it will be.

Any idea what platforms/consoles?
Ron Paul. Is that like a Ru Paul by any chance?
Surely its through a "flexible schedule" that you develop a "healthy work/life balance".
