  2. Pay for services you don't want on New Patent on TV Forces You to Watch Ads · · Score: 1

So let me get this straight, I would have to pay for services I don't want? I thought it was the other way around. It's bad enough that stations currently use tactics like making the volume of commercials louder than the program your watching, so you'll hear it better, but now they want to make me pay them so I can ignore their commercials. I'm telling you all we need a consumer revolution because we are losing this battle against the companies. They have us by the balls and are telling us that we can't survive without them, when it should be the other way.

UMDs for the PSP did good, but the problem was that the movie companies were putting out old movies that weren't worth paying $20-30 for. Most people would pay that much for a new movie, but the majority of movies that came out were old ones that you could get on DVD for $6-10 on the sales racks. The Blu-Ray feature is just icing on the cake.

I can't wait for this controller either. It's about time I get to play the same old Nintendo games with a new controller. You want to end cookie cutter games, then tell Nintendo to stop reinventing Super Mario Bros. I'm all for taking video games to the next level, but this controller isn't really going to take us there. How about doing something different like including different parts of our bodies to control different aspects of the game, like a footpedal to duck and jump. There's a company that's inventing a device so that your hampster can play games with you. Look how popular DDR is? No hand controller there. And what's new about Nintendo coming out with a new controller. They do it with every system. I'd have to say that you're narrow minded if you think this controller is something to get excited about. Now excuse me as I put on my Powergloves.

Remember that theft issues happen more from inside a company more than they happen outside of a company. Retail stores battle employees stealing from them more than they battle customers stealing from them. The agent monitoring the system would be in on scam. I remember seeing a news report about how an ex-Navy service man learned how to rig the credit card swipe device to his computer to steal from customers. He hooked it up at a gas station his friend worked at and hooked up a camera above the credit card terminal to capture the pin number. We should be scared about the low waged security gaurds monitoring this information.

  10. Re:I don't think grandma likes on A DS In Every Pot · · Score: 1

My point is that Nintendo already caters to the young gamers and the new gamers (and off course the old school who still like Mario and Zelda), but they don't appeal to the hardcore. Sony and MS are focused on tech specs for a reason because that's what real gamers want. That's why Sony owns 70% of the market and MS owns as much of the market as Nintendo. Nintendo has been in the game for decades and MS only years, but yet MS has already caught up. I just don't understand why a system that put out a great game like RE4 can't put out more great games for the hardcore gamers. PS and MS do so good because they make games people want not on graphics alone. Nintendo is holding in there because of the kids and because of loyal fans. Sure Mario and Zelda were fun back in the 80's, but that franchise is getting old.

  11. I don't think grandma likes on A DS In Every Pot · · Score: 1

The screens are too small for her aged eyes to stay focused on. I have a DS and enjoy it very much, but Nintendos business ethics are really aggrivating their core gamers with features like wi-fi and the ability to communicate, but only in the lobbies and only to friends. They say they do this so new gamers don't have to be discouraged by all the smack talk that goes on during game play. In all honesty I doubt those players will be using the online play as much as the hardcore players will. Nintendo needs to stop thinking that I'm still 8 years old. I grew up, so grow with me and build games or build your games to meet my needs not the needs of someone who will buy a DS and then maybe a game or two.

I don't get why an individual would want to buy a domain name and server space just to park their contact information. Are they aiming for the business individual? Why couldn't I just put it on my regular website? I don't see the point in getting a domain name for this. Like the artical stated, this is overkill for something that is already done. Search engines already find contact information for companies that have it on their regular site. Plus if a company did do this it would take a while before the search engines would be it up. Googles sandbox time is like 6 months, so for about 6 months people wouldn't be able to find a companies contact info unless they found it through the company site.

In real life customers will complain, but they will never stop using the service or product. Here in Jacksonville, the community bitched about how horrible the local broadband company's service was. The news ran several stories about how the company was aware of how bad they were doing. City council even got involved. My friends even complained about how terrible it was. Did the company ever go out of business? Did my friend cancel his service? No. The company stuck around until they got bought out and all the employees kept their jobs. New company name same crappy service. The American consumer is lazy and doesn't believe that they can make a difference. Best way to tell a company you're pissed is to stop using their service or product, but no one does it.

  19. Not All Chaos on The World's Most Modern Management System · · Score: 1

I don't think I would go as far as to use the word chaos. With the current management style, it seems more chaotic with all the crap and anger rolling downhill until it reaches the person at the bottom who deals with the customer. That crappy customer service you get is due to bad management that never gets reported or falls on deaf ears. I've always suggested employees evaluating the managers at almost every job I've had, but it never got done. I've had some many managers above me who did nothing, but sit on the free ride. The company poured money into an unqaulified or lazy manager, while the employees worked through issue after issue. If they got a consensus from the employees they could replace bad managers and put someone in their place who'll do something and give a damn and help streamline the company and help make money by saving money. Sure there are those who complain about everything, but they don't represent everyone in the work force. I vote they bring the system here.
