I'd assume the traction control system would correlate individual wheel drag with low-pressure tire information. Lower tire pressure = More drag. If it gets a reading that's very low, there should be noticeable drag.
Before we had pressure sensors in tires, we had traction control systems to let us know these things.
I got an "Official Notice" from them once for my domain. They wanted me to renew my registration for something insane, like $100-200, or as the summary states, "I'd lose my domain". I called BS, especially since they were far from my regular registrar, and shredded it.

From TFA: Over the past 18 months to two years, the administration has cut information security budgets by close to 38%, and staff by 40%. They also put a "lockdown" on talking about cybersecurity, the source claimed.
So instead of paying people to fix our security holes, we're just not allowed to talk about them?
I came here to say THIS. Open systems allow for the free flow of data, and as it applies to this case, if you caused a crash, you SHOULD get owned by the insurance companies. Considering how few times the NTSA/State police do accident reconstruction, this shouldn't be a worry for most people. The only time they do it is where there are severe injuries or death.
Also, for those commenters talking about modchips, etc... the "black box" is NOT the ECU. It is typically positioned in the middle of the car, under the center console. The ECU can be destroyed fairly easily, all things considered. An accident which destroys the black box in the middle of the car is a little harder.
This.
IANAL, but I'm guessing if you decline the update and end up crashing into someone because of the faulty software, that's going to be your fault
As far as updates go, the Updating-over-OBD2 is fairly foolproof.

The problem is that you can't adjust for inflation too far back, because the "basket of goods and services" that inflation is measured upon changes every now and then, so the cost of everyday items now can't really be measured against the cost of items in 1920. Some things that were necessities in 1920 aren't anymore, and some things that are necessities now weren't even invented. The most you're going to get is a very rough estimation of what the dollar was worth.

Good to hear they got what was coming.
There's always the Link (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9263), there's also an interesting thread of discussion in its comments page.
Then there are various products from USBee (http://www.usbee.com/products.htm) as well.

"When I give them a limited shell account and set permissions correctly, I don't make that assumption."
Isn't the idea to always expect the worst? I'd tend to assume that if I give anyone any access at all, that they will find a way to break it.
PCIe. I just googled "pcie sound card", "pcie wifi", "pcie sata" and "pcie USB", all of which returned results.
The WODE is indistinguishable from the actual DVD drive on the Wii; the FPGA responds to the Wii's requests just like the DVD drive would.
Disclaimer: I'm not a WODE staff member, stakeholder, etc.
I enjoy watching Mike Rowe, but seriously? Mike Rowe in a datacenter? I cringe at the thought.
Mine's 140 characters! What do I win?
I've been pondering that for a while, personally, I just don't see how to create an effective heatpipe from processor or machine to water pipe.

This happens with SD cards, too.

But we'll likely give them solar panels. To stop them, we'd have to block out the sun...

Indeed. There's far from a lot of things listed. I guess that's a good thing?

Just wait until the next expansion comes out.

For Now. Later? Who knows.

Hope you have a good roaming data plan! Wasn't there a guy that brought his iPhone to europe and came home to a ~$1000 phone bill?

This is Sparta?
Ok, I see the obligatory "sharks" tag, but what about the "pewpewpew" tag?
