At Bank of America, online banking customers are given a "site key", which consists of an image for them to remember. The first page asks for your account number, the next page will ask for your PIN. The page with the PIN prominently displays your "site key" image. If the image isn't correct, you don't enter your password.

There are some obvious problems with this setup, but it makes it so that phishers must do some work and target you specifically in order to get your PIN.

I couldn't agree with you more. I never really understood the whole butler thing either. A butler is someone who greets you at the door (and maybe gets you your pipe and slippers), but not necessarily someone who can answer any questions you might have. Maybe ask-einstein or ask-poindexter would have made more sense.

It's not that the parts come from China, it's that now the responsibility for keeping spyware type stuff off of the computer is China's. If they bought their computers from a domestic supplier, there would be at least one other entity checking these computers. Since the entire box now comes from China, it is necessary for the intelligence community to do the checking. This makes a lot of sense to me.

P/E is not a good indicator for growth stocks. Some people think it is not a good indicator at all. I think the increase in the P/E in the S&P is just a result of more growth stocks (like Google) being added to the S&P. It is not indicative of the next "bubble".

Take Google vs. GM for instance. Google's P/E is 68.09, GM doesn't even have a P/E (no earnings). Which stock would you rather own? Which stock does P/E point to as the better investment? It seems to me P/E isn't very helpful.

One thing that made me laugh from TFA:
