One thing that is interesting is that there are a large number of Roman Catholics that do acknowledge that. But other than that, every branch attached to Protestantism seems to follow the concept that the bible speaks the truth, and scientific theory is as theoretical as the theory that there are tunnels in the north and south pole that connect in the center of the earth. I completely disregard anything related to religion in my life. And that includes the so called morals from religion. I guess I'm good enough that i don't need to follow any rule to get that tolerance is the key to many issues.

Also, notice that just like some of the middle eastern countries, the United States is one of the only places where religion is considered an important part of who runs the government and who the government serves. It doesn't matter if there is freedom of religion and separation of church and state. In Europe, religion is the last thing spoke about - for a person in government's beliefs is personal.

Admit it Garrison O. - you would rather have a christian man as president (like bush) promoting faith based programs than an atheist man as president promoting programs based on science and reason. And you still wonder why Math, let alone Geography, still isn't as important in the US as it should be.

  6. Re:Get rid of religion on How US Schools' Culture Stifles Math Achievement · · Score: 1

I must say that I completely disagree with what you said. I am a Christian, and I am all for reason. Actually, part of the reason that I LOVE math is because of my religion. I am amazed by the way God set up math, and believe, in the words of Galileo, that "Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe." I'm pretty sure that what I said here won't affect anyones decision, and neither will what you said, but I just had to protest and say that religion doesn't cancel out reason.

To believe in something supernatural like an immortal male superpower shows that you lack reason. Back when math and science wasn't the thing to follow, you would kill someone who decided to use reason instead of faith. Now, in the 21st century, christianity, among other existing paternal forms of monotheism, decided that reason solely exists inside a boundary of faith. "Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe." More proof that instead of humanity being made in your god's own male image, it shows that your god is a creation made from humanity's own image.

Mapping it out doesn't create a true interface, but you can use it to create an output that decisions are made based on it, like a joystick or gamepad. Keep wishing though Mr. Lawnmower Man :-P

I think it's stupid to try and blame the fault of people starting it. If one has "paid attention" then they should of stopped it. I'm not putting blame on GOP at all; I'm saying that most likely no one saw the issue at all, or they did and simply enjoyed the positive outcome for them somehow.

One example of code that can be integrated into the Linux kernel (or loaded as a module) that "runs under Windows" is the ext2 driver. http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm.

I am a little curious on if this ext2 driver that's used uses gpl code. Anyone know more info about it? It's only freeware; closed source.

I swear everytime I hear comments about the bible by some christians they sound like some backup in a Robin Hood movie or something. Also notice the comments on the botttom - of wedded women understanding and agreeing that they enjoy and will continue to submissively honor their husband in the same way. As a man who will never become a servant of a myth, I would never follow the morals that it teaches when it comes to women. I find the belief that every human is equal, no matter what factors they have or don't have, and the holy bible disagrees with my, and many people's humanist philosophy.
