Haha. Yes I am cheap. But come on, Dizzy? In GGX, she was the most rediculously overpowered character. She was the boss for God's sake. But only overpowered if you can use her correctly. I too go for looks, that's why I started with Sol and Ky. I love their character designs. For Anime Expo 2002, I cosplayed as Sol (kind of funny, a short, skinny girl as Sol Badguy...), my ex-boyfriend was Ky, our buddy Zak was Chipp, Greg was Axl, and JoJo was Faust. It was awsome.
I haven't played Isuka yet because none of the video game stores ever have it in stock (damn you GameStop, damn you...) And something terrible happened. The arcade by my house SOLD GGXX!! Those motherfuckers... Now how am I supposed to own all those n00b boys who think they can kick my ass?
Did anyone see the press release from a few months ago where SETI announced that if they ever do recieve contact from extraterrestrials they will inform the US government before the media and allow the government to decide whether to release the information to the general population? What a bunch of bullshit. I expected better of SETI. They just lost privilges to use my computer for computing while I'm not using it...
Good move. ^--^ My best character depends on the mode I'm playing. If I am playing in EX mode on a PS2, I am best with Ky. If I am playing without anything unlocked (like at the arcade), I am best with Sol. If I am playing on a Dreamcast, I am best with Baiken. What is your best character?
Really depends on how near-sighted you are. If you are like me (legally blind) not wearing your glasses doesn't help at all. In my case, I would have to sit an inch away from my monitor and wouldn't be able to find the bathroom when it is time for a break. Wear your glasses people!
I've had bad vision since I was in first grade and I have definitly noticed that my eyes have gotten worse since I started using computers heavily. Before I used computers a lot, my vision would go down once every few years. Now, every single year my vision drops by another 100 points. Currently my vision is 20/800 in my left eye and 20/900 in my right (those are not typos). So yeah, since I started serious computing I have become legally blind. Horray.
I'm a graphic designer and I read a lot on this when I was in design school. Reversed-out text (white text on a black background) is considerably more difficult for the reader to process, strains the eyes much more, and reduces the speed the user reads at. It may seem like reversed-out text is easier on your eyes, but tests have shown it is actually much more difficult. Try reading an entire e-book that is reversed-out and then come back and report.
Z-Day is coming man. I am prepared, I'm glad you are too. I have my carbine rifle and dirtbike ready for the day and took my katana to a Catholic priest to get blessed and dipped in holy water. My friends and I all have our survival plans outlined for Z-Day. I pity the fool who thinks Z-Day is silly, paraniod nonsense.
I have had major battery issues with the iPod. I am currently on my fifth replacement iPod and now Apple is charging to replace the crappy battery. When this one dies, I'm not buying another one. I don't care if it's pretty, I want the damn thing to work.
Here in San Diego we have this great arcade called Nickel City. It's owned by Capcom, thus all the games are great, older Capcom games. And instead of paying a dollar to play a game, it costs you a few nickels. We also have a Tilt in one of our malls, which is cool. The only game I play there is Guilty Gear XX, even though I own it. What really draws me to arcades is the chance to own some 25 year old guy who thinks he can play GGXX better than a 19 year old girl. I always get the last laugh...
I definitly agree that the majority of a company needs restricted access. At the company I work at, the IT desk allowed me full adminstrative rights on my laptop while on the company network and I proptly brought down the network three times in one week due to "expirementation" with my computer. Even people who are totally compentent with computers should have restricted access unless they are IT staff. Actually, non-IT geeks should probably have even more restricted access due to our tendency to push our computers to the limits.
Well... you do need to take everything Kevin Mitnik says with a grain of salt. I respect him, bit I've heard some of the interviews he did on security on the Coast to Coast program over the last few years and let's just say it sounds like he exaggerates things just a bit.
On a similar note, look at the newer Castlevania games. All of the CV games released for the GBA and DS managed to add something totally new to the gameplay with each launch. I mean, the Castlevania franchise consists of something like 20 games and is still going strong.
Okay, that makes much more sense. When you say things like, "When you think in the big picture, 3D wins out" or whatever you said, it's incredibly misleading. It sounds like you are saying 3D does the job best every time no matter what type of game is being worked on.
There is a sci-fi novel, the name of which I have been trying to remember since this popped up on digg, which goes into this in some depth. As the characters shift between universes, the material properties of their craft and themselves change with the different physical constants in the current universe.
Something similar to that happens in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Anyone remember the yarn scene from the terrible movie adaptation?
A dimension is a way int which objects can move. No, you cannot just 'go into another dimension' because that is perfectly, impossible.
A dimension is not a way in which objects can move in. The Merriam-Webster definition of "dimension" in the context we are speaking of is, "a level of existence or consciousness." There is nothing in the word "dimension" that implys motion of any sort. As for moving in between dimensions, I suggest you read "Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Dimensions" by Michio Kaku (an incredibly well-respected theoretical physicist in case you were wondering) and "Flatland" by Edwin A. Abbott, a fictional story that explores the second and third dimensions. Also, it is generally known that a minimum of four dimensions and maybe up to 26 or more. (Those four being a point, a line, a flat plane, three dimensional space, and time.)Do more reading next time so you don't loudly declare your ignorance.
You could get similar effects (theoretically) by fortifying wormholes with dark matter and traveling through those wormholes, provided you could survive the radiation, massive gravity, and figure out what exactly dark matter is and how to use it.
I just thought of another series that was greatly hampered by a 3D gaming engine: the Rockman/Megaman series. Great games until you get to Rockman X7. What a terrible game. I guess what I'm trying to point out is that there are quite a few games that work much better in a 2D enviornment (particularly platform games).
This is exactly how the majority of hentai games progress. I wouldn't exactly hail them as part of the Golden Age of Gaming. Not that there is anything wrong with hentai games...
But the moment you start thinking big, 3D wins
Not necessarily. Look what has happened to the Castlevania franchise once it went 3D. Huge decrease in playability. I've played CV I, II, III, Chronicles, Dracula X, Symphony of the Night, Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Lament of Innocence and my personal opinion is that the only bad games in the series are those that run on a 3D engine. Some things just don't work in a 3D gaming enviornment. Another example would be the Guilty Gear series. Can you imagine how terrible it would be if the next GG game was released in 3D? 3D is not the answer to everything. Some gaming formats benifit greatly from a 2D gaming enviorment. ...Then again, I might be just a tiny bit biased. My favorite gaming franchise is the CV series and GG series and the only MMO I play has 2D sprites instead of 3D models.
Oh come on. That's a totally illogical comparison. This is more like a girl going out on a date to a seculded area with a well-known rapist. In the aforementioned case, I would say yes, she asked for it. In a similiar vein, this boy was asking for it.
Well, the only person I know who plays as Dizzy is my ex-boyfriend and he is rediculously good. He's the only person I've met who can beat me.
As for the cosplay, my ex lost the photos -_- But yeah, it was sweet. I still have my costume somewhere.
Haha. Yes I am cheap. But come on, Dizzy? In GGX, she was the most rediculously overpowered character. She was the boss for God's sake. But only overpowered if you can use her correctly. Hey man, don't bash Art Bell and the Coast to Coast crew. Those people are geniuses. Art Bell makes my workday fly by.

I have a fourth generation 20 gig.
Lame article but I did enjoy the little Castlevania refrence on the first page.

This would be funnier if I weren't serious...

Thumbs up for Castlevania fans!
