On a side noe, don't we do 'First Post!' around here anymore? Nope, and I for one welcome our linux-on-blender-happy overlords who have discovered that "First Posters" will blend even if they are wearing tinfoil hats!
NBC's Tom Brokaw actually had an interesting idea -- have the polling take place over a two or three day weekend instead of Tuesday And I've read somebody else have the idea to take that a step further and make voting day a national holiday. Sounds wise to me.
...that:
maybe Blizzard is haunted by SC:Ghost?
SC:Ghost is reaching out from beyond the grave?
a blizzard will have to freeze Hell over before SC:Ghost is resurrected?
It would seem young people in the US are fully adapting to the anonymity of online interactions. ...a sizable number of young people aren't adapting enough. Bullies like easy targets, don't make yourself one. Problem solved.
It's really great that our airports are going to be secured against foreign visitors, but, as Andrew Stranger proved, we can't keep anyone with half a brain out of this country as our current security system exists, beefed up airports or not.
The problem is that most of today's smart youth are indeed videogame junkies with a lack of patience, but we need them to develop into tomorrow's politicians, scientists, programmers, doctors, businessmen, and engineers. This will require different tools for teachers at schools and libraries. Will the state of tomorrow really be comparable to how things are today? Even today, society seems to buckling under the pressure of change. Is it right to say that youth 'needs' to develop to fit the molds of contemporary society?
Personally, I look at the baby-boomers who are clinging to the old ways of doing things to their dying breath and look forward to the day that they have to pass the baton over.
Why do we still wake up at the crack of dawn and commute to work when technology can, if utilized correctly, negate the need for today's social structures? Why do we have archaic laws that are lagging well behind today's social climate?
Sure, we will need politicians, teachers, lawyers, scientists, etc. While they may be working towards the same ends tomorrow, the means by which they do so may be drastically different. To try and deny that possibility seems to me like a recipe for failure and disaster.
Imagine if Microsoft paid Irrational Games $100 million for the next Bioshock game. Microsoft could say "We want you to end the game on a huge cliffhanger. Then we want the last 10 hours of the game to be an X-Box only expansion." As a PC gamer, I'd be really freaking pissed off. But if MS threw enough money at Irrational, could I blame them for not doing it? I don't like where this is going.
I think if that was the case you should blame Irrational because in that case they did sell out. And I hope nobody would buy the game as a result.
If so, here's a better idea. Take the money spent and apply it to hiring more teachers to get smaller class sizes. This way, teachers can get a good idea of their students' voices and be able to tell if something seems plagiarized. Hey, this might even have other benefits for the kids too.
Get the dayjob being a game tester, see how demanding and unlike playing games working in the field really is, and then go from there. Granted, it looks and sounds fun, but for every person who's bragging about how cool there job is there's probably a horror story to match it.
There's no real need to rush to college or start paying for speciality education right out of highschool. Make sure you like the smell the roses before you want to grow them.
That's surprising to me to see that XBL's support staff would be so careless. Last time I called them up it was quite a chore... But then again maybe I had to verify and re-verify personal information to them because I was cancelling and not just getting a password reset.
That really paints the term "dead pixels" in a new light.
...will it blend?
Seems ironic that a man gets caught carrying a camera to film a movie about robots in disguise.
:)
At least one anti-piracy law finally did the public some good
*Mac looks perturbed* "Who are you talking to..? Your iPhone isn't even activated!"

Sorry folks, I'm here till Friday
Unless you modded yourself, that's two people who clearly haven't see Airplane!
Airbus: Care for some metal wings?
Boeing Client: No, thank you, I take them flexible, like my women.
Absolutely. This security stuff is all a very expensive dog and pony show that makes small-minded people feel safe.

Burning a mix CD? For a Father's Day gift? Isn't that the college equivalent to macaroni art!?
The problem is it takes too much effort to steal an election if you use paper, duh!
