Copies of Photoshop that are licensed to educational institutions via their volume license programs very explicity state in the (separate, signed) contract that they are to be used for classroom and educational use only and are by no means allowed to be used for production work. Also, the EULA for all versions states that a licensed user is allowed to install a second copy on a laptop or home computer, but that both copies cannot be used or run at the same time.
What exactly do they mean by 'peek inside?' I guess I don't particularly see the applications for this sort of thing. Are they talking about being able to look up a contact or read an email message without firing the whole laptop up? Or is this to have an interface into your mp3 collection? Anybody with some insight into the uses for this?
I am utterly shocked to learn that there are lawyers out there whose sole motivations are money and power, and that they don't care to further advance the development of society as a whole...
Danish keyboard? It's probably something like opt-slash. There used to be a program called KeyCaps that would show you what characters each key was mapped to. It would change as you pressed the shift, option, or control keys (or combos thereof). Apparently in 10.x the same functionality is available via the Keyboard Viewer as part of the international options. There are instructions for accessing it at the bottom of this page.
I think you can usually burn a backup of the install CDs that will install the game okay. It's just that they won't work when they do that damn CD check on launch. Maybe things have changed in the few years since I stopped playing games, though...
I remember reading this article in Wired a number of years ago (I would guess probably around December 2001 from the date on it). Interesting read, especially if you're curious about autism and Asperger's.
Thanks for the link. Are the ISO images a recent thing, or have they been doing it for a while? I ask because it looks like the one available on the linked page only includes the updates released in January. You still need to get all the other updates released in the year+ between SP2 and January.
Exactly. I love catching people with the oriental/occidental thing. Try telling someone that you're offended when they refer to you as being "western" and they just get confused.
Cool. Thanks for the correction. If you have a chip that has one (or several) of these flaws is there any way to work around it? I would assume that there are ways to detect these flawed chips and work around their problems at the software level. But again, I could be completely wrong.
Oh, no worries. I shoulda included some sort of emoticon on there anyways (pending Cingular's approval, of course). Also, I suppose it's always possible that Gary Coleman really is a gay cowboy. A suicide bomber seems less likely, though...

(society as a hole, on the other hand...)
Seriously- why does everything have to be PC?
It's not just PC, you can get it for all the consoles... : p

That's SPLAT-OPT-ESC!
I know what I'm mapping my three keys to: CTRL, ALT, and DEL

Looks like we need to start putting tapeworms back into everything we eat. That'll fix this problem real good...
Actually, apparently a company called GameQuestDirect has landed the rights to reprint Rez and a few other games. They go for their original full price ($50), but it's cheaper than getting a used copy off of eBay.
Ahhh, so high INT = low CHA. Thanks for helping to put it in terms that we geeks can understand. : p
Man, I wish I had a crib like that...
So you're saying their kid is going to be really smart, but for some reason will have a strange desire to drive a riced-up Civic?

Welcome to the world of site licenses and concurrent use licenses.

Why do so many chinks have to act so niggardly all the time? :-p
(coming from someone of korean descent)
(if it was, they would have fixed it by now).
Ummm, because Microsoft is well known for getting software fixes out quickly?
You don't need to be a bargain basement Colonel Sanders...
Maybe I'm missing something, but could you please explain what that phrase means?

So far, only Gary Coleman has been cast for the movie, to play himself.
>Maybe Coleman will be playing a gay cowboy or suicide bomber
Which part of 'himself' don't you understand?
Oh, thanks for clearing that up. I thought the attorney was suing *a* rockstar, and I couldn't for the life of me find which one it was...
Four words: Natural and artificial flavoring.
Doesn't that cover the entire range of anything that might be construed as having "flavor"?
