Weird, is this only in the Windows version of Safari? I can't get a popup window from either setting Google as my homepage or bookmarking a Google result in the Safari 3 Beta on my iBook.
Colorblindness aid?

I've got red-green colorblindness (green traffic lights look white, reds look darker than other colors, brown looks like both green and red, etc.). Will this help people like me in any way?
Have you used an LCD lately? The viewing angles on my 2005 iBook G4 and my 2004 lamp-like iMac are incredibly wide, and the lack of glare and refresh-rate headaches more than compensates for any color shifting issues.
That's not how it works--the artifacts are there when you download a song from iTunes, since they're encoded at 128k. Burning and ripping them at a higher bit rate doesn't improve anything.
Where did you get the idea that readers of the American Conservative are "libertarian"? The magazine was founded by Pat Buchanan, a nativist culture warrior who has expressed admiration for pre-WWII America Firsters. Privacy and freedom are not in his vocabulary; far right yes, libertarian no.
Sure, audiophile speakers are better for playing music in a reference room, but what about people who just use the same boring white earbuds that come with iPods? When people play music in the background (exercising, mowing the lawn, whatever), what difference does 128k AAC make as long as they can hear that catchy guitar riff?
By the way, you can rip CDs to the Apple Lossless format in iTunes; 128k AAC is only for the iTMS-bought stuff.
With the Bush DOJ that ended the Microsoft case (against a convicted abusive monopoly!) in charge for two more years, what are the chances that they'll go after iTunes, which virtually everyone likes, opened the door for legal digital music distribution, and is compatible with the most sought-after status-symbol gadget in over a decade?
One attaches to your TV, the other you can take anywhere. The Gameboy didn't do this to the NES when it came out 20 years ago, so why should anyone think this now?
This is the arcade version and not the NES one, right? So the U, U, D, D code won't work, correct? How many people downloading that game will know this?
Oh don't be mean. How will the reward be "bigger later" by waiting to buy a videogame system? A toy is the same whether bought today or tomorrow. Waiting to buy a system is a good idea when the system has bugs yet to be worked out (such as the Intel Macs), but, based on Nintendo's history, the Wii will probably be rock-solid.
The people getting theirs on launch morning are the ones who will be playing it when you can't.
Ha, I played Tentacle and Police Quest (I & II) on two Tandy 1000s. The joys of playing games via floppy... especially with that Police Quest II copy protection. Ouch.
What, exactly, was pulled from YouTube the other day? When I read about this on/. of course I went to YouTube to check it out, but there were thousands and thousands of Colbert Report clips still there. Was it full episodes that were taken down?
Well, yes, who cares about gapless when you're playing albums that have gaps?:) There are a bunch that do not, however--Pink Floyd and Radiohead make albums that are one continuous piece of music, and iPods/iTunes prevents the songs from flowing into one another.
But there are narratives that are not "art." Recipes and instructions, which are both narratives, don't seem like art to me, though there is obviously some art (or craft) in making them. How about a purely descriptive walkthru of an RPG? Is that art?
Anything we create that is not for survival is art.
Only when people are truly moved by a videogame, however, will videogames be accepted as an artform. I haven't played one yet, though I have been touched by the humor in Nintendo's games, particularly Paper Mario.
What about life simulations? SimCity, Sims, Spore, etc.
Is GTA really, "at its heart," a shooter? Games with a giant 3D world with missions instead of levels should be their own genre.

Their refusal to consistently refine and upgrade their hardware has hurt them before
Nintendo? The company that made the Game Boy, then the Color, then the Advance, then the SP, then the Micro? What are you smoking?

What is this game? The article offers no explanation of its greatness, so what's the deal?
And no Zelda? For shame.
Reality tells a different story: American liberals are absolutely in favor of the estate tax. American conservatives favor repealing it.

Apple Lossless isn't an AAC file.

Are you a vampire?
You can also type "wiki [subject]" for often the same link to Wikipedia.
There are no state sales taxes of 8-9%, but county sales taxes drive them up: NYC and LA are 8.25%.

There's no narrative in a Warhol soup can or the Mona Lisa, either. Just because Tetris has no story doesn't mean it's "just a game."

And you wouldn't be let in to the country.
