I'm trying to figure out what the DPI would be for a 1280 X 1024 17'' LCD monitor using your formula. It does not seam to be working out for me. I wish manufactures would just put this in their monitor specs. I'm looking for a monitor with about 100 DPI so the fonts are big enough. But I'm afraid 1280 X 1024 17'' is going to be to high.

I carried my Dell laptop in it for a year and a half of non-stop travel through every US state. I highly recomened it. Very sturdy, comforable, and does not look at all like a computer bag. I think it fits all your other requirements very well.

This is THE reason I have not purchased a mac! I travel all year round, not the greatest lifestyle, I know. Therefore I could only consider a laptop as my computer. I have played with the Macs at CompUSA, and Apple Stores. I have come to the conclusion that they are very nice, but would make my computer usage much more frustrating having to use both hands all the time to use contextual menus. I have found that you can click and hold to get most contextual menus, but this is just SLOW.

I would possibly reconsider if the command key was on the right side of the keyboard. That way a right hander like me could use a contextual menu with one hand.

Also, I would buy an iPod if they and Ogg Vorbis support.

If Apple added Ogg Vorbis Support to the iPod and another mouse button to the ibook/powerbook I would order both today.

  8. A blessing for use in aircraft... on Satellite Radio Systems Compared · · Score: 5, Interesting

I listen to Sirius everyday at work for about 4-8 hours a day. Now that I have it, I would say that I would have to quit my job if I ever could not listen to it for some reason. I fly aerial surveying missions, and it can get very boring up there with nothing to do. Now I have a way to have entertainment anywhere in the country, even in the middle of the desert at 12000 feet!!

I have 100 channels to chose from, and have yet to get bored of the 5 or 6 I listen to regularly. I personally think Sirius is much better than XM, mainly for these "streams" as they call them: 2 NPRs, PRI and JamOn. There defiantly is a reason to pay for radio!

I agree that there is not much speed difference between mozilla and firebird/thunderbird. One thing I like about using firebird/thunderbird is that they run in separate processes. If one crashes or one needs to be restarted for some reason, they do not effect each other. I am also looking forward to the mozilla calendar becoming its own application.
