They have venture capital funding and some ads from Google. I doubt they are profitable yet, but looking for a big time buy out from Google, Yahoo, AOL or Microsoft.
I'm shocked that Apple managed to hold the line at 99 cents for a song. Considering they have such a huge market share and over 40 million iPod users, they probably could have increased prices for more popular songs.
But why not offer just free phone service instead? Why do cities think that life will improve by offering free wifi?
Are people just going to sit around in parks and coffee shops surfing online? How much time on the web can you spend a day anyway?
If people really need to get online, they can just sign up with an ISP and pay for it, just like cable TV.
I don't understand the fascination with all these cities wanting to offer free wi-fi for everyone. Do they want everybody surfing the Web all day long sending e-mails or checking stock quotes, etc? What is that supposed to accomplish?
Why don't these cities offer free cellular phone service as well? That sounds like it would be more useful or even free cable TV.
Increasing the storage size of the Nano is called progress. It's about time Apple brought out new iPods. They have been selling the same stuff since last year but still managed to move 8.5 million units in the first quarter.
You have to have a college e-mail address in order to participate on Facebook. It's a much more educated and lucrative demographic than the MySpace crowd.
A lot of these parked sites are making more money because of advertising than they would if they actually had content on them.
There's no incentive to sell these domains unless for a huge amount because of the cash flow they generate and little expenses involved.
What did they mean by "mass defections"? Are we talking 80% of Microsoft users? I doubt it would be that high. I'd be shocked with 20%.
Plus, with new Macs offering the option to use Windows, I don't see Windows crumbling any time soon.
A witty or clever headline is what catches a reader's eye first, or else he will skip it and go onto something elese.
Just mention sex anywhere in a headline and those will end up the most read articles.
This is great news. I've used Macs for a long time and even bought a Dell computer just to use Windows. Now I won't need to use the Dell anymore.
I think this will get more consumers to buy Macs, not sure if businesses or major corporations would want dual-booting computers but your family user who visits Apple stores might.
I'm really shocked this happened so fast and didn't think Apple could get it out so soon after introducing Intel computers. I guess Steve Jobs didn't want a special media event for this announcement. I wonder why?
Paul Allen is like the Steve Wozniak of Microsoft. Gates has taken over and Allen has profited pretty well without being involved in running Microsoft. Too bad his other ventures haven't done so well.
Does this feature work for both the white and black MacBooks?
I can't believe people have actually fallen for this e-mail scam, but apparently they have. That's why they keep sending them.

It would be great if they could sell the new Macbook for $999, but at 13.3 inches, I think Apple will charge maybe $1099 or higher.
Also wonder if they clean the cars upon return and what if you get a dent or scratch? How would they know or who would they blame?
If it really works well, I think Hertz or Avis would implement this kind of service very quickly.
I can't imagine anyone visiting MSN sites if not for Hotmail. That was probably the greatest acquisition Microsoft has ever made.
Checking e-mail with Hotmail is the only I reason I've ever been to MSN.
I wonder if this laser can be used on airplanes as well as satellites. It would have to be a pretty powerful concentrated beam if it was fast-moving.

I can't stand the word prequel. It was all George Lucas' fault for this prequel mess.
Do we really need a story to see how the Cylons formed??? It will only lead back to the beginning of Battlestar Galactica.

Who ever came up with the name Viiv should be canned? How do you even pronounce this?

If this Microsoft Mac group is such a large operation, I wonder why they couldn't keep developing Internet Explorer??

I tried Yahoo's question service and they made you login to answer anything. I skipped that and haven't visited it since.

I've never heard of this guy before. Thanks to the WSJ for profiling him.
They could use a VOIP phone service where you would call an operator like 411 and ask for assistance in finding something online.

Would there even be an Internet if not for geeks???

Just wait for all the PayPal phishers to get a hold of this. I have it bad enough with e-mail, now they will hit your cell phone.
