Cult -noun
1. a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
Cults (religions) aren't bad. Bad and harmful cults are bad (for example, mass suicides, etc). Cults (religions) that promote good are, of course, good (for example, thou shalt not kill, etc.). Simple enough.
If you go to a church that worships a God and has rites or ceremonies (baptism? communion?) then you are a member of a cult (Religion!).
I think it shouldn't be a problem for ID supporters to accept that God created the laws of science and created everything according to such universal laws that he himself set up (or perhaps that have always existed, as He has).
And of course, most scientists should be ok with accepting that our knowledge/theories/facts could be proven less accurate than we currently believe as humanity progresses. There is ALWAYS room for a greater understanding of things as we encounter new scenarios in the seemingly infinite universe.
Surely we can all get along. If there is in fact a Creator, then surely we should use our understanding of science to help us better understand Him; we should NOT use Him to help us devalue science/knowledge. That's just counter intuitive. If you use the two together then you gain on both sides, i.e. everyone wins.
When you buy a CD, you don't get just the music. You get the art the comes with the CD. Something tangable. It's a package. You don't get that with downloads. I look forward to my favorite artists releasing new CDs for both the new music and the new look.
Plus it's not DRM'd and you can always re burn it or re rip it easily, should you need to.
And... If the brain is so complex that it can't be understood, then the brain still couldn't understand itself. Which would mean it would be impossible to understand the brain regardless if it were simple or complex.
Unless it is just simple/complex enough to be understood; then we could understand it. And this seems to be the case, as scientists seem to learn more and more about the brain with their studies.
I'll agree that strategy guides have made strategy games harder.
A guide to a game like final fantasy doesn't affect much, because the game is the same every time. But a strategy guide for a game like WoW or AoE allows any dim wit to jump towards the top. Not that this is necessarily bad; competition is fun and can make those of us who can think up our own strageties better.
This is the exact premise of The Phantom. The son replaces the father as The Phantom, but the bad guys think it's always the same guy.

That's no moon...
'Known' and 'Discovered' are redundant.
Of course there are unknown planets that are undiscovered; of course the only known planets are the ones we have discovered.
Thus, "Youngest Planet Discovered" implies the youngest of all that have been discovered (known). The headline is sufficient.
I always found this verse interesting, using worlds as opposed to planets. So why wouldn't there be more than one?
Just food for thought

Collin: I just moved here from Ireland, my father's a musician.
Lisa: Is he...

Sweet!
The movie will be good as long as William Shatner DOES NOT make a cameo.
I can't ever decide which side to place down when I carelessly toss it on my dusty desk.
Of course there will be a headline the next day, granted the earth remains.
"Earth NOT Destroyed"
What, you think reporters aren't complete idiots?
But in the interim we could just go back in time to stop the black hole from every being created.
