If you were worth your salt as an IT guy you would've had your ISP change your IP address though.
Um, no. Just change your IP, lol like nothing else is tied to it. We had a lot of other things that were pointed at that IP, again I did not set it up that way, but nonetheless would have been a cluster had we just up and changed it. In the perfect world you are correct, but we don't live there. And even two weeks in business is way too long to have to wait. Fix the problem let the software test and then de-list. My God I could understand if this was 1969 and some retard was taking requests by phone and manually testing but give me a break, any turn around time that is less that same day is ridiculous.
It took me about 6 months. I took over as the lead IT guy for a company who had their own Win Small Business server, but didn't have in house people to manage it. The initial setup wasn't done correctly and thus Sorbs had them blacklisted (along with several others I might add). I found and fixed the issues within my first week and then followed their process for removal and six months later finally got an email that I had been removed and things started working. The problem is that it seems a lot of people still use this list, because I know several of our vendors and customers were having trouble getting our email during this time. You can't expect that a business can wait 6 months to be removed. How is it fair for my company, who hired an incorporated company to set up their small business server, to have to pay SORBS bullshit fine? Esp when I've talked to other administrators who have paid it and still had to wait a bit. As far as I'm concerned SORBS is a confederacy of douchenozzles, and I for one wish they would have gone the way of geocities.
Actually I am against that retard. Don't assume you know everything about me based on one comment to one story. Do you know that I am a leftist liberal, um no. So STFU dipshit. Not sure how having the government be a single payer for healthcare is a violation of privacy...Also the government collects information on everyone's paycheck now, that's how income tax is figured.
I am not a walk on water supporter, there are plenty of things I disagree with him on, but is it even a choice between him and Granpa McCrazy? To clarify something for you he actually was very clear on FISA earlier in the campaign. His previous statement made in January is below.(bold is mine)
I strongly oppose retroactive immunity in the FISA bill.
Ever since 9/11, this Administration has put forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we demand.
The FISA court works. The separation of power works. We can trace, track down and take out terrorists while ensuring that our actions are subject to vigorous oversight, and do not undermine the very laws and freedom that we are fighting to defend.
No one should get a free pass to violate the basic civil liberties of the American people - not the President of the United States, and not the telecommunications companies that fell in line with his warrantless surveillance program. We have to make clear the lines that cannot be crossed.
That is why I am co-sponsoring Senator Dodd's amendment to remove the immunity provision. Secrecy must not trump accountability. We must show our citizens â" and set an example to the world â" that laws cannot be ignored when it is inconvenient.
A grassroots movement of Americans has pushed this issue to the forefront. You have come together across this country. You have called upon our leaders to adhere to the Constitution. You have sent a message to the halls of power that the American people will not permit the abuse of power â" and demanded that we reclaim our core values by restoring the rule of law.
It's time for Washington to hear your voices, and to act. I share your commitment to this cause, and will stand with you in the fights to come. And when I am President, the American people will once again be able to trust that their government will stand for justice, and will defend the liberties that we hold so dear as vigorously as we defend our security.
So while you say all he promises are hope and change he actually does take positions on these things. Imagine what you can discover when you do the slightest bit of research. It's his seeming shift to the middle and abandonment of this statement that has people pissed. Not that we misunderstood what he was talking about.
A bill about picking daisies can have a rider about nuclear weapons... there's no connection, they can be introduced any time, and they always seem to be used to sneak in unfavorable laws... Why are they allowed?
The change occurred because he is a political opportunist. After the Keating 5 Scandal he reinvented himself as a reformer. Bush was by all means the GOP front runner in 2000. The only alternative to the insider candidate, is to run as an insurgent. Something Obama has done against Clinton this year with astounding success. McCain wasn't able to win his insurgency bid, so he spent the last 8 years getting cozy with Bush and those in charge of the party so he could be the insider candidate this year. This is a man whose chief goal is the acquisition of power.
right now if the secretary could remember her password from the start of her vacation to the end. The need for IT staff is not going to go away. Nearly half my work now is more business analytics and helping users understand how to write queries and understand data. Along with resetting passwords, fixing printers, fixing BSOD. All the virtualization in the world cannot protect you from the BSOD! Even if you take applications and servers away, you still have a wide range of users using client machines for access. The IT Department is going away no time soon.
Although I was only with the company for one and a half years I gave 4 weeks notice. They are a major Fast Food Chain in the U.S. I had over a month of vacation they wouldn't pay me back for so I took three weeks off. Then I came back to clean out my desk and make sure my direct super who I really liked and was always good to me had everything he needed about what I did. Other than that I said screw 'em. I saw people there for years that would be let go a few years away from retirement because they were too old or people fired on a whim from senior management. They have no loyalty to you, why should you have any to them? You don't even have to be bitter about it. I left with a smile and shook the CIO's hand to make sure I didn't burn any bridges. But still there is no reason for you to feel any obligation, I assure you they do not. That is evidenced by their own actions.
no country is going to toss even one percent of their population in jail for something that was not previously a crime. Not to mention actually catching and prosecuting etc. those people... matter of scale, really. Riiight. What about the War on Drugs? Politicians have no problem spending our money on wrapping themselves in the freedom flag using issues like this and drugs to get re-elected. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
HAHAHAHAHA, I wouldn't be bragging about my 500MB app using XML the same week I claim I can prove how awesome I am by writing in binary.

From what I've heard Gmail should be coming out of Beta soon. Right now it is in the final MasterBeta phase.
Where is it? Having to open a new tab every time I want to go there or having to type it in the address bar is lame.
How about renaming it to Google Bob!

IANAL, *but* I know enough that you can't wiggle out of tax situations by simply creating new companies. At least here in Canada,
I wasn't aware Mounties had WiFi for reading /.

No connection!?!? Oh really fool, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKs-bTL-pRg&feature=related, there's your connection! If children pick daisies a nuclear bomb will go off, geeze stupid.Who is the 1 person in Chad that has downloaded it?

Seriously, what is it with ubuntu that everyone feels the need to speak about it? There is a new version of Ubuntu, so what.
Come on now, there are at least 10 stories everytime Windoze releases a new OS.
